Official word from Wal mart canada Head office of PM's and coupons.

Hi again everyone,
As well all know most, if not all of us, have had some "issues" when shopping at Wal Mart when Price Matching and using a coupon in the same transaction.
So I sent an email to their head office (2 weeks ago) asking 2 direct questions:

1. Can I have a copy of your official company policy on use of coupons?
2. Can you do a Price match and then use a coupon for the same item, in the same transaction?

This was their response to me via e-mail:

In regards to your email request, please be advised that we do not have publicly available guidelines.
You can price match and use a manufactures coupon. You may contact the store manager for further assistance or provide a name and contact number where you can be reach a report will be filed to the store manager.

So, as it is written here, Yes we can do both. I suggest that we all print this out and carry a copy with us in case we run into this issue again....

I don't understand why some of them wouldn't let you. If you had gone to the original store you'd be using a coupon on their sale price, so what's the difference?

Sometimes a pricematch, and coupon combo results in an overage, and since WM is the only store that will give overages, we chose to use our coupons in the most advantagous way
