We are planning on going shopping this weekend in the U.S. I am having trouble finding printable free coupons for shampoo in the U.S. I have found lots of toothpaste and deordant here in Canada, enough to last us a year, but have yet to get any great deals on shampoo here. Thought I would try it in the States. Any suggestions would be helpful. Also how do you get good deals here in Ontario for shampoo? Thanks.

I was at Super Kmart yesterday & they had V05 on sale for .69 ea, there is a coupon book at the front with the rest of the flyers. I absolutely love shopping over there, if you shop at Kroger you can get what they call catelina's when you shop it is a coupon that comes out automatically when you are making your purchase. CVS has a card that you swipe every time you go there, they always have good deals. Have fun !

The cards that are used in the states in the stores......do you go to customer service when you enter and get one right away?

I would love any tips as well. We are going this weekend too.

I believe so. when I was buying cheap turkey a few years ago they said I needed a store card and I as given one right away when I signed up (Price Chopper). I have an actual card and a tag on my keychain.

and the blogspot link that was posted is awesome for US coupons. Not just grocery but for stores like JCPenney, Kohls, Sears, some others.

i do 75% of my grocery shopping in the US. i was just there the other day and my $90 grocery bill was cut to $46 after coupons and it wasnt junk food (there was some cereal, but it was cheerios) so, if your shopping in michigan i have some tips.

    1. if your going to a Meijer, find out if they double coupons, most do. for example if your coupon is for.50 its actually $1.00 there. they do this with any coupon valued below .50 and you can use 4 of each coupon before they quit doubling and just use face value. Some Kroger stores do this as well

    2. get a sunday newspaper. the coupons in them are amazing. every sunday they have at least two coupon inserts. every sunday i go and get a Detroit Free Press and a Port Huron Times Herald. it costs me $4, but the coupons are worth it.

    3. Kroger has a card that gets you their sales prices. you must have it to get the majority of their sales. as soon as you walk in the door go to customer service and get one. they have a ton of great buy 10 for $10 sales. THEN once your home and are going over again to shop there, check their website. they have coupons you can put directly on your card and then print a list and when your checking out, they automatically come off.

    4. Meijers website has the "meijer mealbox" where you can find printable coupons

    5. Target has printable coupons as well. on their website go to "see more" (located directly under the tab for their weekly flyer) and click on coupons. there are usually $100's of dollars worth.

    6. kmart has great food sales and sales on kids clothing.

    7. if your going out to eat, consider golden corral.. its a buffet restaurant. its $7.99 per person for lunch and kids 3 and under are free.. i can feed my family of 4 (kids 3 and 1) for less than $20 and everything is homemade quality with no MSG. I have a very hard time finding restaurants over there as many use peanut oil and i am allergic.

    8. Hobby Lobby has printable coupons on their website

    9. Joann Fabrics accepts competitors coupons, as well sign up online and in store to receive coupons to your mailbox and inbox. i can sometimes go in armed with 4-5 coupons if i get competitors coupons (ie hobby lobby, michaels)

    10. gas is so much cheaper there.. however if you fill up over there and use a credit card, make sure you look for a station that does not charge extra for credit card use. for example if gas is 3.58/gallon if you use a credit card you pay 3.68/gallon. i find its mostly big name stations.. speedy and BP usually do not charge extra

    hope this helps!

Also on the gas thing, some of the pay at the pump request a zipcode. take the 3 numbers from your postal code and add 00 at the end...works at my station

so if your postal code were A1B 2C3 the for a zipcode you would use 12300

Also, if you have a Kroger card and buy groceries, go to a nearby Shell and you can use your gas points from the card to take 10 cents off per gallon. Since we spent $200 on our last visit, we took 20 cents off the gas price and only paid about $3.20 a gallon.

TinkB don't you just love it when you can get those deals especially when US gas is significantly cheaper!

I just have to brag that this week I managed to get coupons for FREE full sized items mailed to my US address from Aussie, Herbal Essence and Pantene. Also today two free bottles of a $75 wine from Lot 18 using two email addresses for two separate accounts from a Snooth offer.

All that being said I regularly get US Freebies and mail them to my parents house and then get them when I visit a few times a year or my mom throws them in a package when she mails something to my children. If I did not have a US address to use I probably would get a P.O. Box across the border at a private mail company that has a non P.O. address since they can accept packages because I get at least 3 or more freebies a day in the mail at my parents and most come with high value coupons.

If you look up the zipcode for where you are going, the sites customise the coupons to the area.

Also is there a Walgreens where you are going? Check their flyer for items with "Register Rewards" which print out when you buy the item listed at the checkout. They are like cash at Walgreens and you can turn around and buy more stuff for free with them...no card needed.

Also most grocery stores have loyalty cards. Get them at the customer service counter before shopping to get the best prices.

If there is a Target...go online to get their coupons....before you leave. You can stack their coupons with manufacturer coupons. I have gotten lots of things there for free this way!
