While I love my two adventurous boys, today they cost me more money than usual.

While checking out at Save-On Foods doing some coupon stacking I was attempting to organize the coupons, explain the policy to the cashier with the help of the CS rep, and keep both boys in the shopping cart, I failed to watch each coupon be entered. Only when I go to the car feeling slightly pleased with my 50% savings at a grocery store did I notice that 3 of my 1.00 coupons had been rung in as 0.10. ARGH damn boys cost me 2.70!!!
Lesson for me: Watch the screen
Lesson for my boys: A lecture from Daddy about not distracting Mommy while she is using coupons
Sigh...you can't win every day.

This just happened to me as well! I usually only go shopping with the baby but, decided to take all 6 kids with me when DH was at work! The cashier missed three of my coupons ($7 worth) lucky I noticed so, I ran back in and got refunded the difference
Kids can be so distracting, lol.

That sort of happened to me once, too. My boy was distracting me and I didn't notice the cashier missed 1 coupon. It had stuck to the box, so I still have it at least.

My DS is only 13 months and he loves pressing the buttons on the debit machines and messing with anything he can during check out! Drives me nuts while I am trying to concentrate on my check out.

With school out for summer it's going to be harder to concentrate on coupons while shopping.
You faired better than me, took ds to grocery store with me. He asked for raisin bread, so I gave in because I quickly looked at a sign and thought it was on sale. It wasn't the right kind so I spent $1.50 extra a loaf.
Then I saw some Ziplocs in clearance for 50%, I thought they were on sale for $2.50 and I had $2 wub 2. Again I didn't double check the price and only one type was $2.50 the other $6 so another $1.75 overspent.
This week I have two ds to drag along, fingers crossed I'll stay focused.

Aww kids
Next time, you can try to bring a game or toy to keep them occupied during checkout.

I'm sure you could bring the receipt back to the store and explain...I don't think there are many $0.10 coupons out there so I think they would believe you! I leave the kids at home with Daddy when I coupon...or bring him along to watch them. I can't watch kids and the till at the same time!

I have this problem all the time too. But you still did awesome though with 50% savings with the kids in tow. The kids are always going to be around so we need to stay focused on how great we do even if its not perfect. I keep trying to tell myself this too. It will b a challenge with all 3 home now.
