Question 1
is this weeks 18,500 special over the time allowed? Meaning can you spend $20 one day $15 the next as long as you spend $75 by the 5th or does it have to be spent all in one day?
Question 2
if i have a printout for 1000 bonus points say on toothpaste and i end up buying 5. Does it come to 5000 bonus points because i bought 5 or a one time 1000 bonus poins? If it was the latter wouldnt it make sense to buy one and use 1 printout go to another sdm and use another printout on another toothpaste purchase?

Happy Canada Day to you too, cashcounter...
In answer to Question 1, your $75 purchase has to be in one transaction, it can't be spread out. But as you may have learned from Smart SCers here, you have to BUY $75 worth of stuff before coupons but not PAY $75 Out of Pocket!!
As for Question 2, it depends on the Bonus Point Coupon printout. Most of them say one per customer or one per transaction. This type you will have to spread out your purchases to different stores or differrent days or different times.
If it says, one per Optimum cardholder or one time use only, you can only use it once.

thanks baggypants. On a side note on the secret 20x day at sdm a few weeks back i spent $62 before coupons. After coupons and taxes it was $37.89. I did not receive the 20x's Optimum points so I called HO and they said it HAS to be $50 after all deductions, coupons etc and I told her the manager said I was ok (and he did not a lie) and she said NO. After a few minutes of discussions with HO she ended up giving me my 12,000 optimum points but said it was a 1 time thing and make sure from now on I spent $50 after everything. Weird how different things work in different stores with different people eh? Just for safety sakes I will now make sure I end up spending $50 after all coupons. I would be so dissapointed if I didn't get the extra points for maybe a few wxtra bucks

I too am nervous about doing it as $75 before coupons. How do people do that? Do you let the cashier tell you your total and then you give her your coupons? I usually like to give cashiers my coupons as they ring my products through. That way they see the product match up with the coupon and don't have to rummage through the bags and see if I did buy the correct product.
I really WANT to do it as $75 before coupons, but I am so nervous that I won't get my bonus points =P

You can give the cashier the coupons at any point in the transaction as long as you are sure you have $75 before the coupons are applied. I prefer to keep them until the end and check what my subtotal is then hand in the coupons. A subtotal of $75 or more before coupons is the key!!
You have to do what you feel comfortable with but check the numerous threads in the Brags section about previous 20X bonus points events.
Then plan your shop and you will be amazed (and so will your cashier) that you will get the bonus points!! Remember, don't use any Free Product Coupons because these items WILL NOT count in your total.
If you want to do a small test, do a one item shop, use a coupon and then see what amount you get your points on. It should be the pre-coupon amount!!

For the secret 20x I had $57 before coupons and $37 after coupons. I got my bonus points (19x570) but I was really worried about it (with the coupon rather than automatic) because even after taxes I was only at $45.
