Thats a good brag, but I think you should still go back and show him what you found. He may have just glanced through, I don't think he would have given away the ring and pendent had he known. just my opinion.

cool brag on the box, but I think I would go back and ask if he wants the ring and pendant back? it may have sentimental value or be a family heirloom he would like to give to his children?

it's a good deal, but i think i agree you may need to go back and show him the ring and pendant. someone may have been using that as a jewelry box, they may not know it was in there just glancing through

I lost my watch somewhere that DH bought me a couple years ago, I would be SO happy if I could find it, it really hurts that it's gone, maybe someone feels like that for this stuff...just sayin'

Personally, if you asked him if he was selling the stuff inside and he said yes, then by all means it's yours to keep...IMHO...

Good deal, but I'd take it back and clarify, just in case. People don't generally store random bits of jewelry inside tupperware, I'd suspect that when he looked it over he didn't see it there, or he'd probably have said something to acknowledge the jewelry specifically was inside.
I assume the guy isn't the beader or craftsperson in the household, probably his wife is, so maybe he assumed there was beads or craft bits or leftovers of whatever she used it for inside, not jewelry. If you didn't even know it was in there until you got home, I'm sure he probably didn't either.
Good score on the tupperware itself, nonetheless.

I'd be scared that it belonged to some dead Grandmother that would haunt me for the rest of my life!! I would also take it back.

Nice find on the tupperware ! I am a big fan of looking for items second hand.
I would also go back and make sure he knew the ring and pendant was in there. He may not have realized they were when he glanced at the contents. They could be items that the family does not want to part with for sentimental reasons.

You know what?
Id say keep it, finders keepers..
its really funny how everyone is telling u that your the bad guy for keeping the stuff that was in the box... but then those people will brag about getting 20,30,40 Canadian tire scratch cards from their neighbours/buildings newspapers... oh man

Right on for you! but ugh... I got a cramp in my stomach reading this.
(Myself.... I'd pop over and let him know it was in there... as has been stated seems like something that was being hidden away) Maybe he will just tell you to keep it if he knew it was in there!

two options:
1) take it back to the seller
2) put a 'found' ad in the paper (brief description)
Either way makes for a clear conscience.

Never met a dog or coupon I didn't like.
