    Started July 8.2013 Tim Horton's will accept Amex as payment, and if you have an AirMiles Amex, bonus collections!!

    Walmart accepts Amex cards too. Amex credit cards are very Popular because of recent promotion

    WM always took Amex, not just recently??? This Tim Horton's thing is new for them to accept Amex as payment.

    Amex has the highest transaction fees ( to the retailer ) as opposed to Visa and Mastercard , hence very few retailers accept Amex .

    I believe even SDM stopped accepting them

    SDM did not, they did not like the backlash when the story came out and carried on accepting them (at least they did at the time, I don't have an AMEX to know)

    Many retailers ear the charge and do accept them, but they do not advertise them as heavily instore so as not to encourage people to use them

    I don't shop SDM anymore, but I know they did accept Amex when I used to shop there, as FP said the backlash at the thought of them now refusing that card was too much for them to risk losing some valued customers.
