Just wondering how often Shopper's has the spend the points event. They're having one this weekend and I would get an extra $30 to spend. I've managed accumulate enough food and sundries for the next 2 to 3 months and therefore don't really need to acquire anything (other then fresh veggies) so I'm hoping they have this type of event more than once a year. Hoping one of you experienced and savvy shoppers know.

They have them it seems every 2 to 3 months, so if you don;t really need anything, just hold off and don't worry, it will come again. They just had one last month. It seems they are becoming more and more frequent.
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

I did the same as you, stocked up well with most things, however I do have enough SDM points to take advantage of the redemption this weekend. ( I could get $400.00 in FREE SDM stuff, but I HATE giving them 13% gst, on anything that is not food )
This weeks flyer didn't WOW me, so I am going to pass on this redemption, asI am sure there will always be another one just around the corner. lol

look at other items at SDM, they do sell camera and laptops and electic shavers , flat irons, blow dryers, picture frames. I bought a Laptop using my points.
Now I will save my point till I am closer to Christmas and use them to pick up gifts.

Do you know which brands of laptops they sell? I would love to hunt those down at my local SDMs if I can.
Also does anybody know of an easy way to search for which location has specific items? There's a canon camera I've been wanting (forgot the model - it's one of the more expensive ones, usually over $240) and I don't know if SDM carries them.Last edited by Miabee; Sun, Jul 10th, 2011 at 02:11 AM.

I'm also wondering on laptops/netbooks. Does anyone know the prices of the netbooks? We are trying to get one for my DD for Christmas. Wondering if it'd be better to get that through Shoppers and our younger DD's DS through amazon with our gift cards.

Only certain stores carry electronics and they are usually behind the counter
The laptops are usually Acer and they tend to have more netbooks than laptops. The last time I remember seeing a laptop was $350 and you could redeem for $200 (you can't do two redemptions on the same item) and the netbooks were around $200 so just taxes
Cameras the stores with a large photo section will have a better selection

I hadn't even considered redeeming the points for electronics-so thank you! My husband could use his own laptop (keeps using mine to surf...GRRR).
