ExpiredGood news for the parents of children from 0 to 12 who have no private insurance (you have to be on provincial prescrition drug plan):
you can have you analgesic for your children for free!
It's not 'Tylenol' or 'Tempra', it will be for 'Pediaphen' (acetaminophen).
Next time you will go to your doctor with your child, you can ask him to prescribe some 'Pediaphen'.
This is actually a prescription good for a whole year (unlimited).

You can also ask for some 'Pediavit' (multivitamins for children), it's also free.

This work well in province of Québec, so I suppose it work for all province.
Moms from other provinces, keep us updated on this!
If you do have private insurance you can ask for it, but you'll have to pay for them. You'll save the taxes though! This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by nanabanana; Sat, Jun 14th, 2008 at 03:40 PM.

I'm sorry for the confusion here. I don't know how you call that, but here in Quebec when you don't have any private insurance, you have medical insurance with the provincial health card since prescription drug insurance coverage is compulsory. Does this mean any sense to you?

Can you tell me where you got the information, so I can determine if it works in my province?

The person who told me this got this information at a maternity/paternity fair.
I'm sorry I don't have any source for this
It doesn't cost anything to ask for the prescription and ask you pharmacist next time you see your doctor.
Several people have done it in the province of Quebec with the insurance program, so I really hope it work for you guys!
