this happened to me yesterday for the first time...
for my previous visits to price smart.. the cashier usually rings everything in then ring in the coupons..

    but yesterday
it took her 40 mins to ring in...

    4x dove body wash
4x $2 off coupon from fb
    4 x $1 coupon from save.ca
    2x dove bar soap
    1x $2 WUB2
    1x gerber baby cereal
    1x $2
    a tray of pork
    1l of homo milk

so she rang each item in and then the coupon for each item and continues to the next one..
is it me or is that weird?

That is weird that it took so long. Should not take more than 10 minutes really. Perhaps they need to train the cashiers a little more, get everyone on the same page with everything so that they are more confident and/or efficient at their jobs. Doing the coupons between each product happens to me a lot so I think that's not unusual. Still shouldn't take that long though, it's not brain surgery.
Amazon and Starbucks GiftCards for Searching the net? Yes I did and so can you!

Ahh ok.. I just thought it was weird because if I was stacking I'd be putting the coupons ontop of the item. To make it easier.
Then she had to call the manager to make sure. Then she had to explain to her how to do it.

When I lined up it was me and a friend. By the time I was done there was a BIG line up. And the Cashier seemed really pissed that "I held" up the line with my coupons....
My friend who was behind me ( I was teaching her how to coupon)... Transaction was a bit faster than mine .. She had more stuff and more coupons

Then the cashier said h couldn't ring in some of the coupon because of overage. I said to her.. But u can reduce the coupon to to the owing amount. Then she said she cannot.
Since it was taking so long and our kids lunch was about 1.5 late we tried to hurry along..

if they try to send you there, just say "everytime i do they send me here or call customer service over"
    then they cant argue.

It shouldn't have taken that long. Sounds like the cashier is on a learning curve. However, I always place my coupons (or my stacks) on top of each product rather than hand over the coupons at the end. It is way easier than having the cashier go through bags of stuff at the end to make sure the coupons match. It also allows me to watch them enter each coupon so I can keep track and double-check for errors. All the Price Smart and Save-on cashiers I deal with seem to prefer doing it this way rather than at the end.

I was stacking coupons last night and all the cashiers were wearing "I'm new" buttons. I went to Customer Service and told them I didn't have the heart to put those poor cashiers through dealing with my coupons, so the CSR opened a till for me and did them herself. Can't imagine how long it would have taken otherwise.

im confused, by the amount of items/coupons you list
why is it taking this long?

go to save-on-foods instead , their exact words to me were "we are supposed to take every coupon you have"
and they dont sit there reading fine print to make sure it can be stacked.
