Well , my user name is kind of my job. That was what I was going for when I thought of it. Then later I realized that if I was in fact " walking on by " that would mean you were NOT getting any letters from me. OOPS!

Hehehe. Every time I see your user name, I think of the song sung by Dionne Warwick. So your name makes me want to sing, lol.
My user name, Shwa Girl, is because I live in the Oshawa Ontario area -- with all it's history with the General Motors plant, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, the nice parts and the not so nice parts. Interesting area to live. Because of GM, it use to be "the city that motorvates you". They filmed an X-Men movie here. And, the famous horse Northern Dancer, came from here.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Mon, Jul 11th, 2011 at 09:47 PM.

That is funny also because it actually IS a very favourite song of mine.
Before I knew how to post pics or videos a nice member ( maybe feetfrown or kool? ) posted a You Tube version for me, I was so touched !!
I like the use of the term SHWA for Oshawa. I think it sounds cool!!

Back in the olden days, when a personal computer was our newfangled thing and we were on dial up and could only have one email account for two people... DH and I went through a lot of ideas and finally came up with a nice and symmetrical 8 character amalgam of parts of our last names.
"mcmi" is the first half of his last name and "nsen" is the last half of my last name. After DH died, I decided to keep that username, partly for sentimental reasons but also because it was just practical to keep the same old one that everyone knew.

mine is parts of all 3 of my names. I used to have it on a jersey when I was a kid and the announcer would always call me car-o-man. It's stuck with me ever since.

I lived in the Arctic for 6 years and my family started calling Nanook of the North (a really old book andmovie about the Inuit.)
I found out that it a name commonly associated with polar bears so I use it.

When I joined SC I was an AVON REP - I've stopped doing that, except for family - but I decided to keep the name as people on here know me as that name.

My good friend growing up was gay and used to call me his lady... then one day when he introduced me to his friends he referred to me as 'shmeelady' (its me lady) Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but the name has stuck with me since I was 15years old. I call him shmee. Sounds so silly now that I'm typing it.
