Dollar Tree Manager Attcks Couponers! :O

Few things I noticed about the video.

1. The video doesn't show much if anything before the attack
2. It sounds like the store has a limit of four items being purchased with coupons.
3. The girls are attempting to purchase huge quantities of single items (also known as shelf clearing)
4. The girls are attempting to scam the store by using an Olay coupon that specifically states it's not valid on trial/travel sizes.

I'm guessing that the girls were being rude/argumentative and couldn't handle the limit of four items. Not surprised the store manager attacked them. She probably got in trouble after being taken advantage/scammed by these type of 'extreme couponers' before.

the woman was probably extremely rude, and refuse to leave for the longest time
and who knows maybe she wasnt just taking the basket "because her coupons were still in it"
maybe she was trying to just steal the products because she wasnt allowed to buy them...

also, are the 1 olay bar soap boxes considered travel size? or would travel size be mini soaps like hotel rooms?

We don't know what "probably" happened or what they were "maybe" doing, so it isn't safe to assume anything. Regardless, even if they are trying to scam the store (can't accuse them, with no evidence), a "no" is sufficient. Getting physical is assault, if that is in fact what happened. The tape isn't clear. A judge will decide.

And more tape of the encounter may not exist. We don't know when the lady started taping. If the tape existed, they would have likely used it to cover the voiceover. They must've shown pictures of stockpile because they had no other video to use over the voiceover, I bet.

Doesn't matter what happened and what didn't. You can clearly see the lady calmly walking out and at the last minute the psycho manager attacks her. Either way, no body deserves to be attacked like that. Lots of peoples post on here about "arguments" they've had with store cashiers and managers so does that mean they deserved to be attack too? Because they were being "argumentative" The speculations have been taken too far, I doubt she was trying to steal the stuff..lol

why doubt it, its not a far stretch
i saw a person in a shoe store who ruined their shoes, try to return them, then when they get told no, they try to just take a box off the self out with them saying "policy says 30 days exchange", the person was standing in puddles of water all day long without waterproofing their shoes so they fell apart.

Because we have a concept of innocent until proven guilty. And there's no evidence to say they're guilty of anything. No one accused them of anything except people in this forum

I don't know what happened, who said what or who did what, but clearly hitting or grabbing somebody on their way out the door is a bad damn idea.

You do not attack anyone for any reason. You just don't.

Crazy stuff... it always surprises me when staff act as though using coupons is costing their store $$..

The girl that was attacked.. was extremely fortunate to not have serious damage to her eye.. the manager needs to work on her people skills and anger management issues.

I find it sad that fellow couponers are jumping on the couponers.. its bad enough that some store staff pre judge couponers without giving us the benefit of the doubt but even couponers are assuming that they are at fault and caused the girl to attack.. Seriously, whats up with that??

1 & 2. it sounded as though the girl started recording because she was asking for a reason why she couldn't have more than 4.. there is nothing wrong with her asking that.. is it company policy, that particular store policy or the policy of the staff who can't be bothered..

3. there is no law against large purchases or shelf clearing.. one thing to keep in mind that $$ stores make their money on fast turnover.. When my daughter got married last summer, my sister picked up some decor items that cost over 250$ at the dollar store.. no one put a limit on how many she could buy, she cleared the shelf in 2 stores.. A few years ago I bought 40 copies of a book at a discount book store.. I cleared the shelf.. they didn't complain..they actually packed them up nicely and even put them in the car for me. Discount/dollar stores need fast turnover. Their markup is so low, volume is the only way they make money.

4. I'm not sure how you could read that coupon in the video.. but either way.. the one they purchased looks like the single bar that we get here for $1.47 but goes on sale for .99 .. its a single bar, not a trial/travel size. I've never seen a trial/travel size soap bar, other than in hotels.

If as you believe the girl had gotten in trouble before, instead of being rude, she could just have said it was store policy and she was sorry but there was nothing she could do about it.. instead she told them to make like water and run out of there..
