Again - it's all about the cashier you have - some are nice some need to be thrown to the garbage bin... maybe the smell will wake them up.

Rule 1 - customers is right, rule 2 - treat customer with respect!

My rule - don't be ashamed of nothing, it is your right to use coupons and who ever does not agree, they can kiss a specific body part!

Everyone is correct, "any" means "any". The picture is irrelevant. It's what the wording the says. If you had a coupon from a dairy association for "any" milk product, and it had a cow picture on it, would she refuse the coupon because you weren't buying a cow?

Everyone is also correct in that the CSM's treatment of you was just wrong. I don't believe that every mistake or attitude requires escalation to head office, in your case, I believe it is warranted. However, you could also try just escalating it to the local manager first. His/Her number will be posted behind the customer service desk, as will the regional manager's.

Finally, I had an awesome cashier once that I thanked (I also called her manager to tell him how awesome this girl was--she's a supervisor now) for a very smooth transaction. Instead of pulling the "I have to go through everything now, you've made my life so much harder because of these coupons" nonsense...

....she did a 'check receipt' thing with her cash.

It pops a preliminary receipt out (without any total) and she was able to go through the ITEMIZED RECEIPT to count totals of items, and check prices. Doing the FPC was sooo easy this way, and so was the B1G1 deals. She just checked them off as she went, and said them out loud, so I was able to follow along too! It seriously took maybe 5 minutes for a HUGE transaction. The lineup didn't even notice. It just looked like a big order.

You will hear a lot of silly things in your adventures, but it will get easier the more you do it! Promise! And it's worth it!!!
My cashier did this too. Also she enjoys the fun of things seeing the original total and then the outstanding balance. Why can't all transactions be like this?

thanks everyone. yeah ... i did end up writing a letter to head office because I was so upset... it was my first transaction having a friend along because I kind of wanted to show her what you can do with coupons, and it went terribly... teach me to try and show off eh? lol
anyways - i hope that it does get better. I've been there before and not had any problems, the girls at my shoppers at great too... hopefully next time will go smoothly.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had such a bad experince at WM. Most couponing trips go pretty well so don't let it get you down. There will always be the odd person that is frustrated, but keep couponing! You did really great on all your finds.

I find Walmart has the worst customer service in the world and you can never find an employee when you need them, and if you happen too there rude. I hate when cashiers say oh you can't use this coupon for that it's not in the picture...do they not realize that the company can't put every single one of there products in the picture, it's not about the picture it's what the coupons says, that makes me mad. I hope you never have an experience like that again. Your doing an amazing job getting deals and couponing, keep doing the amazing job your doing and don't worry about the rude people, what goes around comes around

This was uncalled for and I would definetly contact the heasd office about this store. I used to do mystery shopping at Walmart and the questions you have to answer would have sunk this store. Please don't feel bad it will only help customers AND other cashiers that aren't rude.

I used to be a cashier at Walmart, and speaking from personal experiences, they are very rude sometimes. I was, and it wasn't necessarily because we thought we were better or we ruled the place. Sometimes we do have bad days, just like everyone else. I know where I worked, the management their was wretched. But that really isn't a reason to be rude. If the cashier is having a bad day, it is up to them to take a moment and take a deep breath, by the time I had quit from their I had learned it, and it made me feel a lot better. No one should be treated like that, and I regret that I had done it myself. I would say go right to the store manager, speak with them (though not all of them are very competent), they associates will get spoken to about it. I can almost guarantee it.

And if any of your were once my customer when I had been like these cashiers, I apologize.

At my walmart i place the coupons with the product on the belt and i have had no problem lately, I just let the cashiers know ahead of time where the coupons are and so far i've been thanked everytime for having everything organized. Makes shopping there a lot easier for me.

yeah .. i let her know i had coupons at the beginning because every other cashier that i've dealt with just goes coupon by coupon for the products asking whats next? but i guess that wasn't the case. oh well.. better luck next time i suppose.

Well, Walmart is the only place I can think of where I have to specifically ask for a store manager just to be able to use a regular coupon. Based on my previous tons of bad experience at Walmart it is the only way that works as I personally don't like to give people trouble. Cashiers most of the time bring CSM. Ask that person if she or he is the store manager if not, tell them that you still want to talk to the store manager. In my case I do tell them that I will be reporting them too to their head office if they don't let me talk to the store manager. Believe it or not, some times they approve my coupon all of a sudden before even arrival of the manager.
