Thread: Please Help :) Combining Coupons
-
Fri, Jul 15th, 2011, 12:24 AM #1
Hi everyone!
I hope someone will help me out. I'm new to couponing and I'm a bit confused about stacking and combining coupons. I've looked on previous threads but I'm still confused. From my understanding, you can't use multiple coupons on the same product? Am I right? But then on a website it said:
When you look at a coupon what do you see? Do you say to yourself, "well, it's only fifty cents!" and toss it in the garbage? STOP! It is only fifty cents, however with the combination of a good sale and / or another coupon, it could add up to a FREE product.
Please help me clarify this, thanks so much!

I coupon stack all the time.. As long as it's not a P&G with the new wording : not more than one manufacturer coupon per item: or something along those line...
if it says one coupon per purchase it can still be stacked.. As long as the UPC's are different! I just used the $1, $1, $5WUB2, and another $5WUB2 OFF products to get 20 OFF products and only paid the tax!.. I go to London Drugs to get all non food products.. Check your UPC codes on the coupons!!! If you have a price smart thats where i go to get my grocery items.. I can price match at both places but London drugs here will only let me PM one item where Price Smart lets me Price match as many as I want and I still use coupons!! hope that helps!Get paid to "like stuff" EASY money!!

If you can stack with a B1G1 it is great. You use that then can use other coupons on BOTH the items. For example:
B1G1 then use 2 say $1.00 off on each (yes even the free one) and any diff UPC ones on each again until you get free or almost free. It is awesome
I tried 3 items my first time to get the feel of it maybe try the same to get comfortable then go back with a bigger list
I even PM'd on those 3 to make sure I knew how for a bigger order laer. Good Luck.

it depends on where you live...if I am correct (and I am pretty new) then you can only stack in BC and AB...if I am wrong then someone from another province will have to correct me. And you can only stack at certain stores...the only 2 I know of are Save On Foods and London Drugs. Look for a video to try and talk you through it, if that is an easier way to picture it..just make sure that it is a Canadian example as the states is so totally different. Good luck!

I can't really stack where I am (in NB) the best I can do is using a $ off coupon on one item and then a BOGO on another...
ie, $5 cpn off ice cream (found on cereal) chapman's ice cream is on sale at Sobey's this week for $4.99 + BOGO... so with my $5 off coupon, I'll get 2 for free.
likewise with the old Purex cpns... the buy 1 big one get a small one free... I would wait until the big ones went on sale for $9.99, use the $3 off cpn (found on the purex sample) and then use the BOGO cpn to get a smaller one free... my oop was $6.99 for 2 laundry soaps.
And I agree with shopping during the less busy times. The cashiers don't usually mind at all, and often are quite excited to see how people get their totals down so low...Last edited by Tantum; Fri, Jul 15th, 2011 at 06:49 AM.

I have been told by cashiers ( and other couponers) that I am not allowed to use a coupon on a free item. I was given this advice: I can use a B1G1, I can then stack as many coupons as I need on the one I am actually paying for as long as they do not say "use of more than one coupon on this item is strictly prohibited", and they have different UPC codes. If it is possible to use a coupon even on the free one I would love to try this, please tell me where you can do this.

if a coupon says "not valid in conjunction with any other coupon or offer" means u cant stack, right? How do we know which coupons are stackable...if they dont say this?

You can stack in Sask as well, as we have LD, and we can price match as many items as we want at our LD.

you could only coupon stack at Save On Foods and London Drugs (not sure about Price Smart).... stacking coupon means that you could use more than one coupon on a single item if they have different UPC AND does not have the clause "not valid in conjunction with any other coupon offer" on the coupon.
as for combining coupons that's a grey zone imo because some people wrote on this forum that using a $X off 1 item and using a $Y off wub 2 (or get something free when buy something else) coupons together when you purchase 2 items is called combining coupons. However, technically the wub 2 coupons and $X off 1 would overlap on certain item.
I've been turned down at WM, RCSS and SOF (before they change their policy) for "combining coupons" so I think it goes down to luck?
