Morning ladies! Couldn't sleep & have been awake since 3:30am
so figure I might as welk get up. Have to go over to watch the kidlets in 15 mins. Just enjoying a quiet sit & a hot chocolate at the moment.
DD has her first day of nursery school without me being there with her day. Not sure how it will go, since yesterday she NAPPED for the first time in 18 months (minus when she has been sick). Its an afternoon nursery school & hubby let her stay up until 9:30 last night despite me trying to get her to sleep at 8:30, sigh. Should be an interesting day. Oh & currently 6C out & I promised the boy that I would take him to cross-country practice this morning so that means freezing our butts off outside for an hour this morning, I'm really looking forward to that...
Hubby has a possible fly out day (to Edmonton) this Sunday. Which means I will not be there when Slam is thereTentative dates for DD & I being in Edmonton are October 18th to Nov 3. Would still LOVE to get together with Armygirl & Cowlgirlmama. Hopefully we can work it out once I know my dates for sure. My SIL lives in SW Edmonton (pretty much as south as you can go). How good is the public transit in Edmonton? Got to figure all this stuff out.

We do around 21 as well and our natural gas bill isnt bad. Programmable thermostats are amazing! We didn't program last winter because I'm home all day, but historically, I have it go to 21 about an hour before I'm supposed to wake up ( give the house some time to warm up), then back down to 17 or 18 for the day, back up an hour before we were scheduled to get home etc. Weekends you want to keep it at 21 or whatever you figure out is warm enough for you guys. The thermostats usually have a manual override though, so if you end up being home sick on a weekday, you can just put the temp up to 21 and it will stay there until the next programmed change.
Keep in mind too, a lot of your gas bill may be due to extra fees. I suffer from rageohol every time I get my Enbridge Bill. $24.99/month for hot water tank rental, $20 admin fees, $10 in gas and delivery charges. I've stopped worrying about washing laundry with cold water since it obciously doesn't make much of a difference. It's definitely made the case for me buying a hot water tank when we finally buy a house!

Level 147 is brutal! I was stuck there for 2 weeks!!!
Yeah I hate enbridge. My last bill they had to credit me for the prior month because they had estimated what I'd use, and I didn't even reach that a month later. But of course I still get charged a huge chunk for all the stupid fees. When I buy a house, I'm getting a tankless water heater, and as high efficiency everything else as I can. Is electric heat any better? They have electric forced air furnaces. Not baseboard heaters. With my old thermostat I typically had it set around 19 all the time, if we got cold I'd put a sweater on lol. Electricity of course they have the time of use nonsense here. Mabe I can just get some big solar panels on the roof, and not need anything! My water bill hasn't been too bad though, especially compared to my parents. Where they live the water/sewer charges are insane. They buy bottled water because it's cheaper. Crazy!

Make aure you look at the tankless hot water system...when I looked at it a couple of years ago, it wasn't cheaper than gas because of the amount of electricity it took to "flash heat" the water. Electricity can be tricky...I think it may depend on the area you're in. I would personally do gas over electricity. Our electricity bill this summer was about $200/month...that's with AC at 23ish degrees, HE windows/doors, being in a town house (so 2 sides not exposed to outside) and blinds & curtains blocking out the sun. Gas is definitely cheaper in our area.

Wow, my hydro bill was about $150 max for two months, with the central air (set to 22 when we are home), also a townhouse with sun blocking curtains and blinds. My parent's have the tankless water heater and like it, though I haven't asked them the difference in their bill, they also upgraded their a/c and furnace so may not be able to tell that much yet what was due to what. Sounds like different areas have different rates! Who knew? I guess I will really have to investigate more before I jump into buying. Not that I'll be buying for a few more years any way

If anyone is in need of Tylenol, you should check your local Rexall.
I was in this morning, killing time before DH's plane arrived. They have the new 120 Count Tylenol on sale for $6.99 (from $12.99) PLUS there was a coupon hanging right beside for $4 off the 120 count! $2.99 for 120 of Tylenol! Pretty good deal! The sale sticker said sale is on until Sept. 19th.

Just popping in while DH is showering and refreshing from his flights. I doubt I'll be on much in the next few days, but I'll be sure to pop in whenever I have a few free minutes(the joy of tapatalk).
Have a great day everyone!
