No its not animated. I tried several photos and none of them work. For either avatar or profile photo
what browser/operating system do you use?
Have you resized the images to sizes that would be allowed (the file sizes - not physical sizes - are set fairly small)
Fire fox and internet explorer. Neither worked.
I`ve used images that I used in the past that worked and now they aren`t working.

Not working on safari still.

It is not working with anything, I have let Boo know but do not have a date that it will be fixed

Can you give me a link to download the avatar that isn't working for you. Meanwhile, I'll see if I can change mine.
I have tried various pics, even 50x50 and 5kb so well under reg user limits and nothing works, seems to be more a permissions thing - it won't upload signatures, profile pictures or avatars

You can at least link a signature from another host (tinypic, photobucket etc) so you are not so naked
