So, I decided to learn how to knit a week ago. I bought my first pair of needles on monday and as a vary practical person I chose the cheapest one which was 3.99. I had no choice but now is there anyone out there know where or which stores I can get knitting needles for a cheap price? Thanks in advance.

Michaels is a good place (print off the 40% off coupon) but also check out their clearance aisle, I'm forever finding needles and wool in that aisle. I also find incredible deals at garage sales.

I've bought knitting needles at garage sales, Value Village and the Sally Ann. Sometimes not alot of different sizes to choose from but always a great deal.

I am an avid knitter and even though I am addicted to good deals, I actually do spend money on good quality needles. Addi is my favourite brand. I find that the whole knitting experience can be so much more enjoyable when I am using good quality tools.

I just bought needles as I needed them for different projects until I had a fairly decent set and I plan to keep them my whole life. They've lasted for 15 years so far!

Garage Sales and Value Village if I'm looking for something cheap. But when it comes to quality, I'll spend a little more at Michaels, knowing that I'm paying for quality.

I found a bag of knitting supplies with about 8 pairs of needles and 12 balls of yarn at a garage sale and paid 5$ haha ... my double ended for socks I got off ebay and got bamboo ones from chine. which I love cause they dont slide like my metal ones. and Ive never bought knitting needles there but I got crochet hooks for about a dollar at rossys.

Like some of the other posters, I've gotten knit/crochet supplies at Sally Ann and Value Village... just make sure that the sets are matched appropriately! If you're just starting out, it's a good place to go to pick up a few sets. Once you figure out what you like in a knitting needle (some people prefer different needle lengths, textures and materials - metal, plastic or wood), then go ahead and invest in a pricier set. VV and SA are the places to get started and try stuff out, IMHO.

I'm looking for one too and I know a thrift store that might have them for like $.50. I'm gonna keep looking until I find them!

dont stress too much over saving for the needles honestly lol... you can get a pair you will use alot for under5$... Its the yarn thats the gold lol. spend your effort looking for good deals on yarn cause the only yarn under 5$ is the scratchy fake stuff or tiny balls that you need 20 or to make anything with. just wanted to point that out : )

No Frills at Mavis and Eglinton in Mississauga has knitting needles for $1 in their dollar section.

I have no luck in finding any needles at any of the dollar stores. Im also looking for inexpensive circular needles

Check out kijiji ads. I got lots of yarn from people who were "destashing". I probably have too much now. LOL Watch out, it is addictive.
