Just trying to spread the word as far as I can. This Amber alert was issued just a little while ago for a little boy who was abducted in Edmonton

omg
Came here to post this Amber Alert too. How awful. And there was that incident on Tuesday where an EPL delivery driver chased and caught an alleged molester who may have molested a ten year old boy. Makes me so angry!

OMG this is our local playground just two blocks away. Our 15 yr old is to volunteer there next week as a leader in training.
Our kids age 15 and almost 13 go there every day. They would have been there today but we had things to do. D/h allowed the almost 13 to walk to the library the other direction. First time too as we have always insisted she go with her brother and some suggest we are being too cautious.
It's a strange story...parents around here send their older children to the park for the summer green shack program but he is a bit young to go on his own. Plus most parents know where their kids are. Plus there are few kids in the neighborhood and everyone that goes to the park knows everyone else.
We were away this evening and even though they say they are going door to door they have not come to our door.
I am hoping one of the park leaders reported this and maybe it was the boy's uncle/cousin or something. It's a pretty conservative neighborhood with alot of seniors so anyone that looks odd would get noticed fairly easily.Last edited by Kelkens; Thu, Jul 28th, 2011 at 11:21 PM. Reason: Spelling

I thought as much..
But kudos to the park green shack leaders. It is nice to know they are watching out for the kids...
This is a really good community to raise kids. I know this kind of thing can happen anywhere but people do watch out for each other.
