Looking forward to finding out who my buddy will be to start figuring out what to get.
With the kitchen renos we started last week, I have been shopping a lot more than usual, but they are all big decisions for stuff we will have in the kitchen for a long time. Still haven't found the perfect faucet. There are too many to choose from! If there were only 10 different models, I would look at them, decide which we like most, and pick it. Instead, we have one that we like to top of, the other we like the bottom of, and are trying to find one that we like all of. After that, we need to find the right tile for the back splash...
Shopping for this train will be way less stressful (and I can do it without dh). It will be fun shopping :)
Boarding closes tomorrow morninggggg, Nov 1 already!
after hemming and hawing since they were both posted, i have decided on riding!! riding a few trains, my portions sent, and waiting for a couple to finish filling. off to work on my wishlist so that i can get it in!!
"I have read and understand all the Package Train Rules/Guidelines. I understand if I do not follow the guidelines my name will be added to to the consequence list in the sticky and may be banned from riding future package trains”
I will look over shaw when I get to a computer but I am pretty sure she will be approved :)
I've been soooo on the fence but with me not working yet, I'm going to have to sit this one out. Sorry Ven for being so indecisive!

Just got my buddies wish list. Okay now I'm REALLY excited! I think the hardest part will be finding a box to put it in. :)
Yesterday I rescued a box dh was going to put into the recycling bin, thinking I might need it for this train. Once I am done shopping, will see if that box will be big enough.
Yay, got my buddy and list. Now will need to think, and keep my eyes open while shopping.
We have three weekends to shop, so this should be doable :)
yahoo, got my buddy!!! let the shopping begin!! and it is our local craft show this weekend so maybe some goodies to be bought from there!!
Got my buddy :) shopping begins!
Got a great start to my shopping today...hope I'll be finished early this time around.
Questions I have for my buddy:
What's your favorite meat dish?
Favorite veggies in your home?
Favorite sort of store to do your groceries? eg. small mom & pops sort of place, ethnic store, large grocery store, deli, butcher, farmer's market, etc.?Tell us about it.
Do you have a gas or electric stove?
What's your favorite meat dish? hrmmm....probably lasagna? i LOVE chicken but DH isn't a big fan of it so we usually have red meat over white.
Favorite veggies in your home? i love kale! but like pretty much any veggie except cauliflower, i would love a recipe with kale in it actually hehe
Favorite sort of store to do your groceries? the only thing in town is a no frills so that's probably my fave just because it's closest lol
Do you have a gas or electric stove? electric
What's your favorite meat dish? hmmmm this is a hard one, my go to would be chicken parm I guess, but I love roasted chicken or chicken pot pie. Like Venuila, he prefers red meat but since I usually cook, he often gets told to eat it or make his own LOL
Favorite veggies in your home? Mushrooms, Zucchini, broccoli, - for the recipes, I love onions but he HATES them so something without onion would be good
Favorite sort of store to do your groceries? eg. small mom & pops sort of place, ethnic store, large grocery store, deli, butcher, farmer's market, etc.?Tell us about it.
Ummmm, I usually hit the Farmers Mkt, the new Chinese grocer that opened near me and a grocery store (whichever is cheapest that week), we did a work trade off with a butcher so currently have a fair amount of meat and I have only been buying chicken or ground and then the European deli (more for snacks than the deli stuff but we do get deli stuff while we are there LOL)
Do you have a gas or electric stove? electric
I have a question that is not really a buddy question, our teflon pan is scratched and we wanted to replace it with a ceramic one, but not spend piles of $$
Does anyone have a ceramic pan? Ceramic or just coated? Any deals on them?
The 12" Orgreenic is $40 in the as seen on tv store but looks kinda flimsy, I have seen sturdier ones for $60ish but don't know which ones to buy

We usually eat chicken and pork dishes. DH is a meat and potatoes kind of guy.

Favorite sort of store to do your groceries? eg. small mom & pops sort of place, ethnic store, large grocery store, deli, butcher, farmer's market, etc.?Tell us about it.
I mostly shop at Sobeys/Superstore/Walmart...wherever the best deals are. There is a local general store that sells everything you could think of and usually has some good deals. We buy almost all our meat from a local grocery store because they have awesome deals on chicken and pork.
Do you have a gas or electric stove?
Electric stove
The onine reviews I've seen are, for the most part, not very positive. Have you tried cast iron frying pans? We have a couple of ancient Wagner skillets and one Le Creuset that we love cooking with. We even use them in the oven for baking as well. If you decide to go with iron, I'd suggest spending on the best quality ones or, find the best quality second hand (our Wagners were hand-me-downs, Le Creuset I found at a church sale). They will save you money in the long run because you'll never have to buy another pan again...they'll outlast you and a future generation or two :-).
Buddy, I just ordered stuff for you online :)
We do have a cast iron one, but he dislikes it so doesn't use it
What's your favorite meat dish? meatloaf
Favorite veggies in your home? broccoli and okra
Favorite sort of store to do your groceries? eg. small mom & pops sort of place, ethnic store, large grocery store, deli, butcher, farmer's market, etc. No Frills, Costco, and Asian supermarkets (ie, Oceans)
Do you have a gas or electric stove? Electric
Bought my buddy's first item yesterday :)
What's your favorite meat dish? Probably pork tenderloin. Have a good teriyaki recipe I got from my sister years ago, that the family loves. And now when making pork kebabs or pork souvlaki, I use pork tenderloin, cause so much more tender. But we also enjoy chicken and steak.
Favorite veggies in your home? broccoli, carrots, squash, potatoes, and bell peppers for the whole family - and I love sweet potatoes - we can't eat too much kale, chard or spinach, even though we enjoy them, because they are very high in oxalates, which is bad for dh's kidney stones
Favorite sort of store to do your groceries? eg. small mom & pops sort of place, ethnic store, large grocery store, deli, butcher, farmer's market, etc.?Tell us about it. grocery stores like RCSS and YIG, but also love Farm Boy (small local chain with produce, meat, bakery and deli) and Bulk Barn
Do you have a gas or electric stove? neither - as of Thursday, when my new range gets delivered, will have an induction range
Buddy, do you need a sugar & creamer set for your hot beverages (ie, coffee, tea, etc)?
