Its become a very sad situation - even more so after hearing that his mother and sister don't think he has a problem.

I loved this letter.....

“Now that he’s acknowledged he has a problem, with drinking, with alcohol, he’s taking the proper steps to deal with it.”

I hope this is true that he's admitted he has a problem because he can't get help until he admits to himself that its a problem. His family need to wake up and see it too. It'll be easier for him to get help if his family is supportive and not continuing to deny that he has a problem.
.
Apparently now there is some other personal family medical crisis. He did not elaborate but left city hall early today.
.
whilst listening to cross country checkup, heard a woman from calgary (i think)
mention what happened on her sunday - the rabbi started with a mention of rob ford,
then said the religious part, and brought it back to rob ford.
and suggested : the best thing he can do is get help (otherwise he will be remembered as the mayor, who did what?)
for his self, his family and really his legacy
they are all aware, and likely reaping some benefits from the connections he has.
through all this, it really seems to me it is likely his brother who is the most dangerous one. i get this feeling that he is the real mastermind behind everything, and the rest just follow along happily because of the good times and fringe benefits.
Ford has admitted to buying illegal dugs while serving as Mayor but insists the place is not a crack house. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/11..._hp_ref=canada

Live stream of city council. They're debating a motion to have Ford take a leave. It's gotten really heated with lots of yelling, Ford aggressively approaching a fellow councillor. I've seen 5 year olds that are better behaved than these people.
The letter 30 out of 44 councillors wrote to Ford.Quote:
November 12, 2013
Mayor Rob Ford,
We write to you as colleagues representing wards from across the city and the political spectrum.
Over the past six months, and especially the past few weeks, we have grown increasingly concerned by the seemingly endless cycle of allegations, denials and belated admissions about your behaviour.
Toronto is distracted and for good reason. Our city's reputation has been damaged and continues to suffer, and it has become difficult to focus on the pressing and substantive issues facing City Council.
Today we stand together to ask that you step aside and take a leave of absence to address your challenges privately, outside of the public eye. We believe that the majority of Torontonians share our view, and that City Council will excuse any absences you require to address the situation with finality.
The city and the Office of the Mayor demands nothing less than honesty, accountability and transparency.
Sincerely,
Paul Ainslie, Ana Bailão, Michelle Berardinetti, Shelley Carroll, Raymond Cho, Josh Colle, Gary Crawford, Glenn De Baeremaeker, Mike Del Grande, Sarah Doucette, John Filion, Paula Fletcher, Mary Fragedakis, Mark Grimes, Mike Layton, Chin Lee, Gloria Lindsay Luby, Josh Matlow, Pam McConnell, Mary-Margaret McMahon, Joe Mihevc Peter Milczyn, Ron Moeser, Denzil Minnan-Wong, James Pasternak, Cesar Palacio, John Parker, Jaye Robinson, Michael Thompson and Kristyn Wong-Tam

A Superior Court judge has ordered information censored on a police document that detailed an investigation into Mayor Rob Ford, his associates and activities should be released.
The information could be made public as early as this afternoon.
http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/20...formation.htmlQuote:
Crown attorney Tom Andreopoulos said the innocent party sections of the document did not form part of the “essential narrative” and did not advance the public interest. That information, Andreopoulos argued, is “highly sensitive personal information.”
Star lawyer Ryder Gilliland argued that all of the information was put before a judge by the police to get the search warrant and keeping it secret would contradict the principle of open courts and would “do great harm” the public confidence in the administration of justice.
Nordheimer, in his decision released Wednesday morning, said the argument of the information being “non-essential narrative” is “problematic” because “if the narrative was truly non-essential, it ought not to have been included in the [document].”
“In my view, when it comes to the issue of public access to the material, it is not open to the Crown to attempt to maintain secrecy over portions of that material on the basis that it was unnecessary to the process in the first place,” Nordheimer’s decision says.
It's a comedians dream come true, the gift that keeps on giving. Oye!!! Hard to believe there's still more :P
Didn't he say the other day I have nothing left to hide ?
Ya know, I'm really just starting to get sick of politics in general. It doesn't appear to matter at what level of politics it is either. Federal, Provincial or Municipal, it appears that once you have been elected to your position you have carte blanche to do as you wish, and you do not need to be held responsible for it in any manner.
Has Rob Ford been convicted of anything? No. however I find it disgusting that he has admitted to everything he has as of recent after lying about it for 6 or so months, the redacted portions of the police report included prostitutes, among other things, and he can not be forced to step aside, step down, or completely gone from his position? That's completely wrong. The only way he can be forced out is if he is charged with something, convicted AND sent to jail. So even if he's charged and convicted, if he doesn't receive jail time he can not be forced from his position.
Think about that for a minute. Let is sink it. This is NOT a partisan issue, this is an issue of politics protecting the elected official, no matter how corrupt they may end up being, and not giving the electors a say in the very person they put in that position. It is so wrong on so many levels.
