Quad dipping on Airmiles at shell?!

I've recieved so many offers through airmiles recently but a few really caught my eye. I headed to Shell this morning to take full advantage and hoping it works!
I put $30 of V-Power in three times and redeemed 95 airmiles each time. This is normally what I run in my vehicle, so no extra cost. I also bought a $25 gc with each purchase for fear of the min. $30 restriction..
Offers:
1. 25 bonus miles every time you redeem until Dec 5
2. 50 bonus miles when you redeem airmiles until Nov 14 (personalized)
3. 10 bonus airmiles every time you spend $30 on fuel until Nov 17 (mailout)
4. 10x airmiles with min. $30 purchase

SO 95 airmiles given with 95 cashed in!

And as an added bonus!! The man behind me said that I could use my airmiles on his purchase because he forgot his card.
$100 in regular fuel = 2x the airmiles and 10 bonus airmiles with mailout!

Don't be surprised to see that the AM's you achieved with the GC purchase will be revoked within a few days to a week. I had this happen to me more than once so I don't bother anymore.

Maybe she should redeem them ASAP if she has reached 95 AM multiples ..so that they don't take them away.

Who knows they might even do a negative balance ..not sure , if she is at 0 after redemption .

Chances are, the 'bonus' miles won't be applied until sometime later anyway... so the 1 or 2 s/he got from the GCs will have already been (possibly) revoked before the multiplier is applied. It really depends on how the purchases were rung in:

I travel a lot these days. I only EVER buy gas (V-Power) at Shell stations wherever I'm at, but of the five stations I frequent, they seem to have different methods.

At some Shell stations, a Shell GC is rung up as an actual GC (itemized on the receipt as such). In my experience, if I bought $30 gas plus a $25 gift card (totaling $55) in this manner, then I get 2 airmiles posted to my account in a few days. Followed up a day or two later with a revoked (-1) airmile. (but it's dated as the original date)

At some other Shell stations, a GC is rung up as "misc Grocery". I get the same +2 initially, and then it's hit or miss if I get revoked the -1 or not... but it usually takes longer (sometimes a week or more). These are usually independent convenience stores that are not "Shell" branded stores (a Needs or a Quickmart, or some such).

In either case, the revocation is listed chronologically (in your AirMiles account online) on the date it was originally bought - so you might have to scroll down to even notice it. But also in either case, it's well before the bonuses are applied.

Note: These experiences are only with SHELL Gas Gift Cards. If I buy a Sobey's Gift Card, or iTunes card, or some such, I never get revoked. It's only with Shell Gift Cards.

And again, your experiences may vary. But I was buying Shell Gift Cards with the sole intent of double-dipping. But stopped doing it when I was getting deducted the "double" I was expecting.
