^^ I would LOVE to have Jake along, BUT my crazy dog ( Murphy ) would object to another along the walk, he is so anti social when it comes to other dogs. He had a great short spurts kind of run in the school yard field just now, he is the only one I can let off the leash after he has done his business ( that's his reward! go run wild now ), he loves to go waaay across and then when he sees us from afar he comes tearing back to us. The other guy, ( Rufus ) cannot trust him off the leash at all in that open yard, if he gets it in his mind he wants to go home he'll just take off, so I keep him on leash.

I'm still teaching Jake. Yesterday, I let him off leash in the park for the 1st time when there were other dogs he'd met, so he was fine. A 3rd entered the picture he didn't know, & he followed him out to the road, even though I called him once. I could barely see him (he was a LONG way away by now, & I was getting worried) but when I called him this time, he came charging back. His reward, a 'good boy' pat, and an 'ok' and let him run some more, which is what he really wanted to do. I'm very happy with how that went, so he's earned a little more freedom.
