I use to love camping; we did a lot of it.

I just wish I could get Jake to drink; getting worried about him; it's been a week now.

LAST B4 our nap.

I met my fiancé camping 3 summers ago and we proceeded to spend every weekend for the rest of that summer camping at the same lake we are headed to this weekend. So its really special for us. And also we get to try out the little trailer we bought for the first time.

Poor Jake, he needs fluids. When Ivy got older she developed Vestibular Disease which made her very dizzy and she had a hard time eating. I used wet dog food to get more fluids in her and also boiled chicken to make my own sodium free broth which she drank after it cooled. When it got really bad our vet showed us how to administer fluid subcutaneously. It sounds like a big deal, but it really isn't and fluids are the most important thing for them when they are sick. Dehydration can be lethal.

aw vw hang in there with working. hicks, do you mean Jake has not drank any water in a week? Andit suggested to me that I add drained tuna liquid from a can of tuna as it flavours the water...hope he gets better soon.

I didn't meet my late husband while camping, but we did exactly the same. Every w/end for the 1st two summers, we camped @ the same lake. We started moving to other camp grounds, etc. every summer for the next 25 years. A lot of very fond / special memories.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did boil the chicken, but didn't even think of using the broth. duh
He won't touch wet dog food. Just doesn't like it, & I've tried 1/2 a doz. brands.

No, he's had some every day, but not nearly as much as normally. Not nearly enough. He's so weak.
I've used the tuna liquid over food when he gets fussy, but never added it to water. Another good suggestion.
