Hello every1. Thank you for all your get well wishes.
As you know, I fell on Sunday morning. I spent almost 12 hours in the hospital. I have a spiral fracture of my right fibula, actually 3 of them.
They look something like this, only lower, and again, 3.



They're trying to avoid surgery, so zero weight baring. I'm in a cast; the w/chair arrives tomorrow. I'm trying to learn how to use crutches, but I'm not doing too well. I keep losing my balance. The home health care nurse started this morning, and comes daily. I'll be getting meals on wheels, and since they took my licence, they'll be providing transportation to all medical appts. Anyhow, the list goes on, but needless to say, I'm not having much fun.

Just wanted to bring you up to date, and I hope you all have a great day.

oooooohhhh!! hicks!! That pic looks very owwwy! I am so glad you ended up getting yourself checked out, also very happy there is a support system in place for the meals and some assistance in the home care ( not very long but at least once a day right? ) Will they give you back your drivers license once the leg is all healed up? Thanks for coming and and putting our minds at ease with the update. Rest as much as you can, ohh! just remembered about Jake. who will walk him?

OMG hicks that must be some terrible breaks for them to take away your license. Glad you went to the hospital to get checked out, I kid of thought something more was wrong then just a sprain from what you said. At least you have support coming in to help and meals on wheels is pretty good food. Will your son come over and help? Thanks for the update and please be very cautious when you do something. Are you still in a lot of pain?

No, my son can't help, he's flown out of the country for a week.
The nurse comes an hour a day, 5 days a week.
A friend stayed with Jake all day yesterday, but sorry, no walks for him in the foreseeable future. He's done pretty well today using the back yard. He'd better get use to it, because it could for a month, or for 6 months, depending on how I heal.
And yes, once I'm healed, and can walk again, I get my licence back.

I think it's time for some drugs, and a nap.
