    Hey there,
I am going to Bellingham tomorrow for the first time (just moved to Van)
Does anyone know of the best/cheapest places to shop? (groceries/gas/clothing) Other than costco
Any stores that they have that we don't?
Any tips for me would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

If you enjoy a variety of fresh and healthy foods, make sure you go to Trader Joe's. Lots of great stuff that is much more competitively priced than you will find up here. A lot more variety as well including a great cheese section. (Like a much cheaper version of Whole Foods)

The Big Lots in Bellingham is way better than the Canadian version. When Macy's puts things on clearance, the prices are amazing. Marshalls is also worth checking out (Bellis Fair). WinCo is a new grocery store that opened in Bellingham several months ago and although I haven't been there, I do hear people talk about how great their prices are. It very close to Bellis Fair and I will definitely be going there the next time I head to Bellingham.

Happy shopping....if you go to WinCo, let us know what you think.

Check flyers! I've seen some real steals at Fred Meyer's on staples like milk and eggs. WinCo's flyer seems like it would be a great place to stop into as well!

Winco is great. i've found that they have a larger variety of groceries compared to Walmart and prices are very good. the store is large and everything is neatly organized. they are open 24 hours as well.

I second this, and don't forget to bring in some recyclable bags on your way in as well. The environment will thank you for it

I always make a stop at Fred Meyer (there are two in Bellingham). You can go to customer service and pick up a store card, even though you live in Canada. Once you register with all of your information online, you can load up coupons directly onto your card via their website and can combine those with paper coupons. On a quarterly basis, if you meet the minimum requirement of $ spent, they will give you a % in store credit you can use on your next purchase. They often have great clearance items as well (shoes, clothes) that they mark down for an additional 50% off!

I would find a good booklet for that.
