I don't always think of how much my food costs when I'm eating it but today I did. I made Spaghetti with meat sauce using the following ingredients:
1 x Ragu Spaghetti sauce @ .99 Giant Tiger paid with overage from Olay soap ~ washed my hands with that free olay soap after
1 x Lg tin tomatoes @ .99 paid with overage from Olay soap
1 lb lean Ground Beef from RCSS with overage/points from Buitioni Pizza , (had 1/2 of a free pizza for lunch )
1 x Pkg Barilla Spaghetti @.88 used .75 insert coupon (expired now)
1/2 x pkg Europes best Veggies free with $2 insert coupon (expired)
This made 6-8 servings
I have enough ingredients to repeat this at least 8 times
Its pretty amazing when you look beyond the initial shop and see how much those savings are showing up daily. This thread is currently associated with: Europe's Best, Giant Tiger, Olay, Real Canadian Superstore RCSSBe sure to click like and post a brag if you get the deal.. Totally agree! DH and I do the caculations most meals - just to reinforce the idea that eating at home is cheaper than buying / going out. It has really helped us save and realize that yes we can have a nice meal at home for less than 1 main at a restaurant.

Plus you know exactly what's in it. And sometimes things happen in the restaurant kitchen that people don't know about. Until later. When they are stuck in the washroom.
Remember the CNE and the Cronut burger incident this summer...
