Today as they have done every August 30, the International Day for Remembering Those Who Have Disappeared, Crimean activists assembled in front of the Russian embassy in Kyiv to call attention to the 44 people who have been “disappeared” as a result of Moscow’s hybrid deportation of the Crimean Tatars. These are people seized by masked men and taken away to unknown destinations. Six have subsequently been found dead, and others are thought to be in Russian prisons...

22-year-old Yaroslav Bilanynets died while on duty at Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast on August 29, 2018. Yaroslav was born in Nyzhniy Studeny, Zakarpattya Oblast. He lived in Uzhhorod. Serhiy Zubrytsky (Nahorny), call sign “Polkovnyk” (Colonel), was laid to rest in his hometown on September 7, 2018. Serhiy died of a heart attack while on duty in Popasna, Donetsk Oblast on September 4. Serhiy was born in Starosillia, Volyn Oblast in 1972. He enlisted in 2015 and served as major, commander of a combat vehicle in the 14 Separate Mechanized Brigade. He suffered two injuries and a concussion. Serhiy leaves behind his grieving mother. He was critically wounded during shelling near Novhorodske, Donetsk Oblast on September 7.Vladyslav was born in Kotelevsky Raion, Poltava Oblast in 1998. 53-year-old Valentyn Belinsky died of a pulmonary embolism in his sleep on the front lines, Donetsk Oblast on September 10, 2018. Valentyn was born in Vinnytsia on August 20, 1965. He joined the volunteer movement in 2014 and accompanied about 100 humanitarian missions to the front lines. Founder and president of the charitable organization “Volunteer Delivery Service”. He enlisted in 2017 and served as driver and nurse in the 59th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade. Valentyn leaves behind his grieving wife, a young daughter and grown-up children. Вічна Пам’ять! 20-year-old Yaroslav Buhayevsky died of his wounds in hospital on September 11, 2018. He was seriously injured in combat near Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast.
Yaroslav was born in Shostka, Sumy Oblast in 1998. He loved sports, had a black belt in aikido and was member of a local sports club “Patriot”. He served as an intelligence officer in the 13th Battalion “Chernihiv-1” of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade.

Oleksandr was born in Izyaslav, Khmelnytsky Oblast on January 30, 1991. He served as captain and commander in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.

Speaking at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker said the USA and the rest of Europe shall not lose focus on the situation in Donbas.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel says that the European Union will maintain sanctions against Russia. Speaking during her Baltics tour, Merkel said Moscow must progress toward fulfilling its commitment under a peace deal for eastern Ukraine before the EU would consider lifting the measures.
