sorry about the title but,,,
i noticed something sort of odd in the backyard on saturday.
looked like a squirrel but thought it must be another part
of a branch down - have seen a lot of those this year.
(one with a wasp nest, didn't even know we had one of those)
but monday saw something that got the binoculars out,
a dead groundhog, (very strange to see one here)
on it's on it's back and the not a branch is a dead squirrel also on it's back.
they are both at the back of the yard along a path maybe
the fox walks in - but both are in one piece so,,,what to think?
contacted local town info and was given animal services
phone number which is only taking emergency calls right now.
trying to not think about poison - have one cat who insists
on going out. and 2 animals now not alive?
the usual animals i see are the occasional raccoon, the fox,
a bunny rabbit, and the (not so stray, long story) gray kitty.
and they are all in the front yard or street.
any ideas what is going on?

Do you have crows or other forraging birds? Our dog got sick from eating things that crows drop in our backyard after they pick apart garbage. They drop bones and other things. I have to "wrangle" yucky bones away from our dogs. Trickery! Which is better - a yucky bone - or a tasty MaroBone? So far the Pedigree MaroBones have won out. Hope that helps.
