I am lucky enough to work for an employer who will allow a sickday and/or provides the option of working from home (which doesn't necessarily require illness in order to have). This thread makes me feel very appreciative of what I have.
In addition, it highlights the fact that, maybe even more than minimum wage increases, we need some sort of government mandate providing a minimum number of sick days. I remember well having jobs without sick days and if they let me take time off, it was without pay of course.Kate
