Next week I will be back to my hospital regiment. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed not having to be a patient for a few weeks. I'm getting around so much better. My goal is to be able to walk without any assistive devices like crutches canes or my wheelie walker. It's been so long since I could do that, but little by little, one step at a time I will get there.

Then there's the other side of the coin. My bilateral lung metastasis - neurofibrosarcoma or MPNST - the reason I am in this clinical trial. If you have some time, look into ENMD-276. It seems to be keeping the tumours from growing. At this point, I don't know how long I will be able to stay on this drug as there will be an end point. I do know that there will be several other treatment options that will be available to me....because Sarcoma will be my permanent roommate - however I'd like it to be one of those roommates who is never around...if you get my drift.

Truth be told, coming on was just too hard....
DD had a health scare and until she got the all clear the other day...my heart was just too full.
But know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers....
Sorry to hear about the loss of your SIL...
Glad to hear that there is no new growth/change....
Hang in there my friend, and continue to fight this fight...

I can say that I had a fairly good week. The pain that I experience & live with was minimal & managed quite well. My trip to PMH was a great experience. It was the first time in a long time that I went down there alone. It felt great to navigate my way through the hallways from Labs to Clinics & do it without assistance. I am so darn happy to be walking better.

Never take walking & getting around doing your day to day stuff for granted. Just think a little tiny thought once per day, how good it is to be able to have the freedom & dignity of mobility.

I am feeling content these days people. A feeling that I hope stays with me for the foreseeable future as I continue with my Escapades with Neurofibrosarcoma.

One of the strong motivators in my life will always be my treasured friend Nellie. She was first class in every way. Her personality encompassed all the qualities that make a person so wonderful. Life isn't as much fun without her & I miss her terribly.
I am grateful that I got to have her as a friend for most of my life. Only 52 when she passed away. I feel her presence in my heart & remember the encouragement she gave to me in my own fight.

September 7th marked the second anniversary of her passing.

One of the most joyous moments I'm recalling was when we found out that there was going to be another blessed event with the surprise arrival of a perfect little baby girl. (she was just turning 16 when she lost her Mom)

I saw your post of Facebook Val, and I know you're deeply missing your fantastic friend. I think people like that only come around once in a while and you were so very fortunate to have known her. She sounds like an amazing person.
