No matter where I go it seems I cannot escape,
Is it possible them blues are on the take?
I've got the blues in the kitchen wherever I look,
They’re in my head & they make me cook,
The blues are with me & they make me think,
I've even played the blues on the kitchen sink,
When I’m doing the laundry the blues are in my soap,
As my dryer spins the blues just help me to cope,
The blues chill my soul & they keep my beer cold,
Everyone should know the blues will never grow old,
The blues paint my house & the blues paint the town,
Keep the blues in your noggin & you’ll feel their renown,
Wear blue eye shadow & wear blue lipstick,
& I’m sharing the blues, with this little click.

A bit of an update. Still going to the hospital to have my vitals taken & to make sure that my blood work & urinalysis does not reveal anything that we don't want to see. I am pleased that my platelets are remaining in the good range. I still must deal with the side effects of this *drug* but I look on it as a rotten inconvenience that I try to keep on the back burner. I have a very metallic & almost rusty taste in my mouth & the dryness is so brutal. I find the drinking lots of water helps a little bit & Werther's Orignals are wonderful.
I will be having a CT scan at the end of next week. Then the following week after that I will see the doc. She will review everything & we will be taking it from there. If these tumours are responding the way we want them to, I will likely continue on this treatment regiment. I'm keeping my hopes up high that I am on the right track.

I am making a Greek Pasta Salad today. It is something my dear friend Nel used to make. She was one of the dearest most precious ladies that I was proud to call my friend. Nel died on September 7. 2012 & she was only 52. We used to talk on the phone each and every day. We laughed ourselves silly so many times. Nel was an incredible cook. There are a few of her signature dishes that I enjoy cooking & each & every time I make them, I think of her.
I knew Nel for forty years give or take a few. We met in high school through mutual friends. Sometimes you meet a person that you hit it off with immediately....she was one of those people.
We were going through cancer together and we could tell one another anything. When Nel passed away, I was in the hospital & I was unable to attend her funeral. I wrote her a private send off that only she would have understood & even rolled her eyes yet. There are times when I wish more than anything that I could pick up the phone & give her a call. Nel's birthday was on May 28th.

When I hear the saying forever in your heart, it has so much meaning to me.
