You will be able to lower the cost , keep at it, and email the companies that you like the products, some do send out coupons

i've been couponing about as long as you regulusleonis and my husband makes fun of my couponing as well, but there have been times when i've gotten between $75 - $150 worth of groceries for $2-$10 and i've caught him bragging to people on the phone! so even though he makes fun of me, i know he's secretly happy with the savings and also with my enjoyment from doing it GOOD JOB BTW!

Thanks again! I'm not sure how much lower we can go since probably 80% of our food is fruits and veggies. I wish there were more of those types of coupons! At least Driscoll's is catching on

I have the same issue but I have found getting stuff on the discount rack is worth it. Yesterday I got a bag of peppers for .99 and they were fine-just a little soft but perfect for a sauce. I also found a squash for .50 that had one bad spot that had to be chopped off-and it was delicious! If you have time when you get home then you can deal with the produce that is about to go bad by cooking or freezing right away. Be careful with it though-sometimes the stuff is really bad!
And don't forget about Farmer's Markets, just go near the end of day-awesome deals to be had. And ethnic stores-they usually have good deals too.

Farmers markets are great! This is my first year having a garden, so we are more than good on produce. Actually we have SO much that I wish I had friends or family to give it away to. Even though it cost nothing but my time and energy it seems like SUCH a waste that I can't use everything

I'm lucky, I live a couple blocks from the all-year farmer's market yesterday my friend and I split the $20 family deal from the Hutterites here ... tons of potatoes, pickling cucumbers, peppers, carrots, onions and tomatoes! Plus it's local so better for the environment
