Read a rant about co-workers razzing an SC member, for getting deals and freebies.
Remembered that, it's February, and time to plan for Christmas 2014 Westjet deals.
Got return fare to sunny USA, Christmas time, $199 each way. Regular, $399-$599 each way. Saved $400 to $800 total, per person.

Wow! Now that is planning in advance! When the snow starts to fly next winter, you'll be smiling thinking about your sunny destination

Awesome price for Christmas. Just wondering, how do you know now is the time to book? Its a great deal but why is Feb a good time?
I'd love to book but I can't plan that far in advance

You are right. Some can't book so far in advance. We are not taking any vacation days or time off work. It's will be a short trip linked to stat holidays and weekend.
I don't know why Feb is good. I just know that each Feb. for the past few years, we have seen the prices go low.
Sept. may be good for you. If you watch on a regular basis, for the destination you are interested in, you should get to see the price trends and the highs and lows.
Hope this helps.

So happy for you but jealous too!! My company is stingy even when it comes to booking vacation time you're entitled to. I wish I could go somewhere at Xmas

ING has a nice idea where you can name your accounts. So we named an account "travel". Each pay, we try to put a little away in that account. So we can track and see when we are getting close to our goal. So, having the travel account, helps to save on credit card payments. The trip is paid before traveling and not after traveling. And no credit card interest.

That's the best part of the brag!
It's many cities available. It could be cities in California one week, Nevada the next week (Vegas), Florida the following week... The choices are really great when the airlines have a seat sale war - Westjet, Porter, Air Canada...
Europe, Asia and Canadian cities are on sale throughout the year too.
Happy traveling.

Congratulations. You got a great deal.
How do you find them. I want to find for Edmonton in July, any hints where to look.

I have been seeing West Jet offer various deals, if you complete your travel by April.
So deals for May - August can't be far behind.
think I heard that Porter is having another sale. So that means West Jet and Air Canada should be jumping on.
Just check them online regularly and you should be able to score a deal.
Just like you are good at scoring a deal in the grocer store.
The search is just the same as your weekly search for flyers. A seat sale "flyer search"
