I seem to notice a trend in coupons.

    1. The coupons are getting less in value.
    2. Not as many tear pads out in stores
    3. New limits being put on coupons - P&G now says (except trial size)
    4. Couponing sites have run out of coupons.

What do you think. Is this a new strategy by the manufacturer to reduce coupons? Is this just a lull in coupons.

    I would like your views.

from what I have heard (other long time couponers on the site)
-there is usually a coupon lull in the summer maybe that's why you're noticing not as many tearpads.
-more people actively searching for coupons = less coupons that you may find
-limits being set are most likely in response to stacking coupons but who really knows?
-as for site running out of coupons, I haven't experianced this personnally but if manufacturers put out a limited number of tearpad coupons it would make sense there would be a limit on web coupons too

I heard the summer is an off season for couponing. However, the few tearpads that have ben available have been skunkd. I dont expect this to change in the fall or winter. Not sure if its newbies or veterans but I think more people are taking the entire pad. Or a group of a few are taking a large portion of the pads.Either to trade, hoard, or sell on ebay. Gocoupons are the only sites that run out. Websaver does run out as well on some front page items so it is important to order early.

I hope I am wrong and in the Fall I am able to get some store coupons. I have not got one from the store since April. I am in a real drought. been relying on website and printables. The only tearpads I have seen fully stacked have been Fixadent.

Lots of Fixadent around. Lol I send my husband out shopping and tell him if he sees any coupons pick up 1-2. He doesn't look at the coupons just takes 2 and lately I have a lot of Fixadent and not much else.

Should pick up again soon but I think with all the attention on coupons the last little while it has brought out new people interested in saving.

I have read that this is the first time that gocoupons has been out, usually just the yogurt. Not sure where I read it or I would post it but I read something recently about a new poll that was taken and of the people asked 57 percent were now using coupons in Canada. If somebody has read this and has more info please post because I can't remember all of it.

I've seen a few tear pads over the past couple weeks, not sure if it's a result of moving (so less hoarding in this part of the city) or just good timing. I agree with the previous poster, theres probably a heck of alot more coupon hoarding going on. I never take more then 4-5 if it's an item I use ALOT of and I usually take 3-4 extra for trading. I've never seen anyone take the entire pad but I have read enough posts that make me suspect some others may take more then a fair share.
I expect the limitations being added to coupons is a result of too many over using a coupon to get an abundance of trial size and overage items. Greed is making coponing more difficult and will continue to do so.

I have seen many new tearpads as of late (I have seen a total of 20 new coupons in the last 2 weeks alone). So I am sure the new coupons are slowly being rolled out everywhere. I guess it also depends on the area. When I go for coupon walks near my house, tearpads are always empty but near my work, the stores have full tearpads all the time. It is basically luck of the draw. I usually have a lot of the same coupon because I visit an average on 8 stores per coupon walk and grab a few at each store. This way I always leave a lot on the tearpad but still get enough to trade with others.

That is what I do too. Not eight stores (don't have that mant lol), but take a couple at each store, and if I visit the same store a few days later, take a couple more.

Living in Mississauga and working in Toronto gives me that luxury. We have stores at almost every different street corner. Within 10 mins from my house we have 3 Metro's, 1 Freshco, 3 SDM, 1 Rexall, 2 Food Basics, 2 Zellers, 3 NoFrills, 1 WalMart, 1 RCSS and 2 Sobey's. There might even be more but these are the ones I visit.

From my work, I also have close by 1 Rexall (in the basement of my building actually so I go often), 1 Metro, 1 SDM and 1 Food Basics.

This gives me some extra exercise and allows me to get a lot of coupons but only a few from each store.

A bit of both I think, there is always a lull in the summer but the restrictions on coupons are a product of the overage/stacking
