I was so impressed with the deal that I got for my son's birth announcements that I wanted to share it! I had wanted to get 50 birth announcements to hand out to people who had gotten us a baby shower gift. I had found the ones I wanted on shutterfly, but even with a $30 discount code that I had, 50 announcements (5"x7") came to around $150 after taxes and shipping!!! I did not want to pay $3 a piece so I figured that it couldn't be that hard to photoshop my photo to make it look similar and print it out on 5x7's at Walmart. Well I went to Walmart, and a 5x7 print is $3!! SO IT WOULD HAVE STILL COST ME $150!! I was starting to think that if I wanted the 5x7's that I would have to suck up the price or get them printed on 4x6's (which is only $0.19 / print) but then I found online a deal at Black's for 50 - 5x7's for only $5.00!!! I was so excited! I downloaded a FREE trial of photoshop, googled how to create the effects that I wanted to do on my picture and uploaded the image to the website for ordering! In total I paid $5.50 after taxes and they look INCREDIBLE! I'm so glad I procrastinated getting them, because otherwise I would have spent 30x the money that I did
They are a couple other blogs that I follow similar to smartcanucks and it was on one of these blogs that I found this deal. Couponing is the smartest thing I've ever started doing and I really appreciate all the time that people put into these blogs so that people like me can save this kind of money... THANKS GUYS!!!
Total @ regular price with $30 discount at shutterfly: $150
Total @ Walmart with me doing all the work: $150 + tax = $165
Total @ Black's with online promo = $5.50

Good thinking! Such a great deal. Thumbs up!

I like when Vistaprint has the 50 free postcards, I use those for announcements and for invites! Of course you still pay shipping (around $10) but much cheaper than WM or shutterfly for sure.

Awesome deal on the birth announcements!!
I ordered mine through tiny prints & they were expensive! So for xmas photo cards I decided to use some of my pampers points to order from Shutterfly. I only paid $6 in shipping! I recently got my son's bday cards this way as well. Anyway, great deal at Black's! I'll have to look into this! thanks for sharing

Great deal! I got my first ones made at Costco...they were about $20 for 50. This time I made my own 4 by 6 announcements with my Creative Memories Program and then printed the pictures at Costco so they cost even less...I think I spent about $5. Congrats on your baby!

Holy cow! Not to be nosy but how was shutterfly so much? I ordered 25 gorgeous ones from them and it cost me (with 50 prints and 2x wallet sheets) $30!

I'm not sure, maybe it was just the design I wanted, but it was $1.89 a piece or something and then there was shipping which was $30 alone, I know that doesn't add up but somehow it just was that expensive! Now when I go online and try to order the same ones, the price has dropped down to $1.51 a piece and shipping is $20 but still about $100. INSANE, I must just have expensive taste i guess

Great brag but could you post the Birth announcement? Sorry if I am being too intrusive but my husband and I are trying to have a baby and anything to do with babies just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
