How to get free veggies without coupons

Yesterday, I bragged about getting free gas + Air Miles, by buying cereal with my $20 Metro gift certificate.

Today, I got free veggies without a coupon.
1. Check office recycle bin for Stouffers & Lean Cuisine packages.(My coworker eats 2-3 per week).
2. Entered pins for Stouffers rewards and Lean Cuisine.
3. Received a $10 President's Choice gift card yesterday.
4. Went to No Frills produce department reduced veggies shelf.
5. Found pink sticker orange peppers x 8
6. Cashed out at $1.17 and $1.79 for 8 peppers in great condition.
7. Enjoy.

Result = Free peppers without a coupon, and more left on the gift card for later.

I always find items on the reduced rack where I can't understand why they would put them there although i never complain. The easiest way for me to get free produce however is visiting mom and dad and their half acre of vegetable garden lol.... They give me so much I don't know what to do with it sometimes...I have to be creative!
