I can't remember where I saw it, but it was recently, and I believe it may have been on Groupon. I don't even remember the name of the Software package but it was for submitting your taxes online. The sale price was $14.99 which was half off the regular price.

Thanks! I found these comments about Studiotax from LAST YEAR on an H&R Block related website. Someone said it didn't calculate their RSP's.

Are you sure the $14.99 was on Groupon and that it was for H&R Block? My memory must be really bad--it was online so recently you would think I would remember!

I saw UFILE software on sale ( In store ) ..not Online ..for $ 14.99 ..I think there was a thread about it ..probably a 1 Day sale at Staples or something like that...it was 5 bucks off as reg. price is $ 19.99 for the same.

You can do 4 returns with it

The Source has UFILE for $ 14.99 - In Store price , not Online price ..not sure if its all locations , so call in before you go in & ask them to scan the software & not just see the price tag before they tell you the price online.

If you are lucky, you can go to your nearest Canada Post office and pick up a free copy of h&r block tax software, may all be gone by now, but with a try

I don't know , but I was told that their software is not that good ..and you can only do 1 return with it.

Maybe its good & the person who used it didn't use it properly

I was a bit frustrated with Ufile this year. In the past we've purchased online and did the taxes online. So I was able to log in and enter information as we got it, before purchasing the software this year.

Then I saw Ufile on sale for $15 at Superstore. Great, I thought, it's $30 online. Opened the package, installed the software...and you can't share info between the online version and the hardcopy version I bought. Clearly you can't return software you've already opened, much less installed. It was a PITA to enter everything, and we weren't willing to do it all again, so we sucked it up and paid for the online version.

I know there is free software out there, or 'by donation.' For some reason I'm a bit uncomfortable with that. If I've paid something for it, I expect to get something for it...if it's free, I feel like I don't have control over what happens to the information. No proof of that at all of course, just my general feeling about it. $30 is more than reasonable to do two tax returns fairly simply IMO.
