I would never pay more than 1.99 per lb of grapes, more than .57 cents a pound for bananas, $2 for a box of cereal, $1 for shower gel.....

This is very interesting. You also have to consider where you live. In MB prices are much higher than ON for example.
LF: kashi from websaver and 50 cents any cereal printout
FT: Mann's veg and more! Check out my tradelist/wishlist

Yes, I agree that many places are different in regard to their prices. I am currently in Shippagan, NB and a 1-lb clamshell of strawberries is $4.99, a pineapple $5.29, for example. Needless to say I will be waiting to go back to Ontario to purchase them for $2 or less....

Prices vary so much across country though - I was on a 2 week vacation in beautiful Nova Scotia and I would say produce is twice as much or more as in Ontario and most groceries are more expensive. I had a little house right on the ocean and did my own grocery shopping and cooking, and could not believe the prices over there in grocery stores. So I don't think we can do one thread for everyone.

Tis ok, I am only here for 6 weeks anyway. And I tried no-name frozen veg in a stir fry, this being after a full year of buying fresh all the time. Needless to say I was not impressed, but can deal for the 6 weeks lol
