It is a great thread to have and there are many more coupons and hot deals readily available nowadays through coupons, rebate apps and pricematching.


This thread will help us with our pricing..if we think we're getting a good deal on something we might find out we could actually get an ever BETTER deal.

PS...Item does not have to be $1...it could be any dollar amount...and cost per/load/sheet/mL are welcome too...please include formulas :)

I never pay more than $1 for tooth brush/paste, loose fruits and veggies/lb, school supplies, art n crafts, seasonal items i could go on forever

pasta, laundry soap, dish soap, deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, pasta, body wash, razors, cleaners, barsoap, spray cleaners, candles/fresheners, sandwich bags, shaving cream, plastic wrap, tinfoil, mustard, relish, salad dressing, canned veggies etc etc etc

I would never pay ANYTHING for manual toothbrushes!

Never more than $1.99 for a tub of yogurt. Never more than $3-4 for ice cream. $3 for Frozen pizza.

Never more than $1 for cleaning chemicals

Never more than 20 cents per regular size roll of toilet paper.

This is great :) I won't pay more than $4 for 500g of cheese. Toothbrushes and toothpaste my goal is to not pay anything and haven't for 5 years. I am on board with many other things mentioned above, like the yogurt. I won't pay more than .99 for lettuce, or peppers per pound, bagged salad, coleslaw, $1.99 for 10lbs of potatoes...hmmm i could do this all day lol. Oh, cereal, if I have to pay for it lol, i usually won't pay more than about $1 a box, $1.49/lb for lean ground beef, haven't paid anything for pasta in several years.

oh - toothbrushes - need to stock up. Anything out there right now? thanks

I won't pay anything for....yogurt! Or toothbrushes/toothpaste, dishwasher tabs, laundry soap, deodorant, shampoo/cream rinse and so much more! I am have to change that now that stacking went kapooooof tho....teehee.

i won't pay more then $1.50 for goldfish, $1.50 for granola bars (both are lunch box staples in our house), $2.50/lb for most good meats (roasts, steaks....)

I won't say I *never* but VERY, VERY rarely would I pay more than $1 for: Deodorant, Bar Soap, Body Cream, Dish Soap, Cleaning Supplies, Toothbrushes (usually get them free), Razors (still working on my stash I got for free when I joined SC), Shave Cream, Mustard, BBQ sauce, Spaghetti sauce, Napkins,

I rarely pay more than $2 for: Yogurt, Granola Bars, Lunch Snacks, Bread, Sugar, Eggs, Cheez Whiz, Cereal, Ice Cream/Frozen Treats, Freezer Bags, Children's Advil, Listerine, Mouthwash, Dryer Sheets

I rarely pay more than $3 for: Toilet Paper, Ketchup, Frozen Pizza, Tide Laundry Soap, Sunscreen, Bug Spray

It's funny because when I am out shopping and I see someone about to buy something that I know they can get elsewhere for less, I tell them :) Most thank me and put the item back.

This is a great idea! I know how much I'm willing to pay for toiletries and household items, but I haven't calculated for food and pantry items. So it's great to have something to benchmark against, thank you ladies!!

Thanks! I've been thinking that we should calculate the price per gram of dry cereal. Often I will see a deal posted only to find that the size is very small. I try to get Kashi cereal for less than $2.00

Just wondering what you consider to be regular price and best deal for dishwasher detergent, laundry soap based on per load? Which is cheaper? Powder, liquid or tabs? Thanks. I live in BC btw. Also interested to know prices of garbage bags, coffee filter, hand dish soap, facial tissue, paper towel and other common household items. I've been couponing on and off but I find it a challenge because I'm not the main household shopper. I give them coupons but sometimes they don't use them. They don't seem to mind paying extra for convenience too. Whereas I would go from store to store or price match if I can.
