Hi, I'm pretty new here. Could you please tell me your thoughts about buying coupons off of Ebay? Is this good? Is this bad? What do you think?

A couple of months ago, I tried bidding on coupons on Ebay. I thought it was a good deal because the starting bid was only 3 dollars. So I bid, thinking since there is only 4 hours left I have a pretty good chance. I won the bid, then went to go pay the seller using my paypal account... After trying to pay numerous times, without success. I had to message the seller and explain how paypal was not working and how I had no way of paying for weeks, ~ according to the website. Well the seller said for me to e-mail her the payment...
This worried me! The website clearly stated in their policy, that paying for items through e-mail is forbidden. I did not feel comfortable doing that at all, so I told the seller. And she canceled the bid...
I felt so bad, but I did not want to chance giving out my personal information to someone I don't know.
Now this is just my opinion! Do whatever you want, just make sure the seller has a high percentage rating, and their description matches the actual coupons. I saw one auction where the description was totally different than the coupons in the picture posted.
One more thing, remember to check your paypal balance!! You do not want to bid on something and win with no money in your account...
Hope I helped... Somewhat!

I bought coupons off e-bay a few times and i thought it was great as they had a good deal for me to save lots of money on some coupons i really wanted and could not get on my own or by trading. I was very happy with what i got for the price i paid.

To add to what i said i also agree with TheCoupon Queen you have to check their feedback and make sure they are a good and honest seller as you would with any product you buy on E-bay

Thanks for the answers. One thing I am worried about it where they are coming from. I know that some people are better at getting extra inserts, by recycle walks, perhaps (I am not that adventurous) but they mention tearpads in some of the descriptions. Are they taking all of these from the store to sell them? Hmmmm......

Good question! Some tear-pad coupons are very hard to find, therefore creating a reason for them to auction them... I personally don't really care for tear-pad coupons as they are not very high in value!

Personally I bought and sold off ebay! I sold to make money to buy coupons that I wanted(not making a "profit" for myself) but just essentially trading. I think it's a good idea cause I can get multiples of coupons I use every week. Like 25 x bread coupons.

I've only bought twice on e-bay (so far), but both experiences were great. The sellers had great feedback ratings, the coupons were no more than it would be to trade for stamps, and I received many great coupons that I would not have been able to get my hands on around here. To pay for my coupons I use my paypal cards I've redeemed from swagbucks

I don't think it is any different than trading on this website.
Sometimes people trade for stamps (which cost money) or gift cards (again, costing money) - so it is essentially the same thing.
I think that what is more appealing is it's easy, less time consuming, and you know exactly what you're getting. You don't have to look through a bunch of trade lists, give offers and barter back and forth, or wait for people to reply to you. Also, if you have problems on Ebay you are covered. If you don't receive your coupons from an Ebay seller, Paypal will refund you.
If you don't receive your coupons on this website, you are out of luck - nothing can be done; you just have to take the loss. I have had this happen to me personally, so I know just how frusterating it can be!
It's just a game of supply and demand. If there is a demand for a particular coupon, there will be someone happy to supply it for them!
As long as everyone is getting what they want out of the deal, I don't think there is anything wrong!
...and no, you don't have to have money in your Paypal account. You can have the money come directly from your credit card, or you can use an "echeck" and have it come from your bank account, but I believe that is held like a normal check.I am looking for many fpc coupons and willing to trade gift cards - especially stouffers and fresh produce. The expiry dates must be at least 1 month away. I'm also looking for betty crocker, pillsbury, philadelphia, nexxus, $3 beef, icecream, beans. I prefer large trades but have few coupons to trade.

I don't think it is all that different than trading on here, however, I find trading on SC gets you better coupons for your $$

i buy coupons all the time on ebay, i never pay more then 3 - 6 % of the total value of the coupons including shipping. unless you are getting a lot of what you are looking for 10% max. if you are comparing to trading here some people want an arm and a leg just like on ebay so you have to pick and choose. i buy the occasional mystery lot which always includes some inserts and tear pads and what i dont want i trade here. inserts are way way cheaper to buy on ebay then to try to trade for them here for stamps. i always search the `ending soon`and try to steal some good deals
Gotta love a good deal!!
