Hey everyone, I had some quick questions as someone newly getting into "Real" couponing

Little back story: I have been using samples for quite a while now and decided to try couponing seriously since the wife and I are expecting out first baby In December and will be having much more costs.

I have been doing ok so far got about $150 worht of stuff at Shoppers for about $16 but I know you all have better luck at times and I'm sure have tips for newbies etc.

I swear I had seen an introduction to couponing on SC somewhere but for the life of me cannot find it now. So I thought I'd ask here.

What are the best tips or info you would give to a newbie?
Also, things like how to get the best flyers/inserts etc and where to get them, what to subscribe to etc.
As for a coupon binder which I know we need. Does anyone have something like a general guide line of how to lay out a format or organization etc?

Any tips and help will ne greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance and for all your time.
    Happy deal hunting!!

*edit* forgot one more question. What are the best canadian coupon sites. I already have the main ones like save.cx, websaver and gocoupons as well as P&G. Anyother I should also check on a regular basis?

Welcome to SC. Just click on any forum and the first two posts should help you out a little. If you're looking for certain coupons, try the coupon trader on this site. I've gotten lots of great coupons that way. Good luck and congrats on the baby

It doesn't take long to figure everything out! I read the brags, check the deals page and the coupon forum everyday. I've learned so much!
As for a binder, I am using a photo album for all my coupons and a small accordion folder that I put all the coupons in that I need for my shopping trip. I bought it at Micheael's and it is meant for coupons. That way I don't have to pull out my huge binder in the store unless I find an unplanned deal!
When you have questions just post them, that's what I do!

You are going to all the right sites for coupons. On websaver you can go to sitemap and go to hidden coupons. Thy are called coupon portals. Also browse the coupon forum to rad ppl posts to new tear pads ect.. My binder is a plain old binder. I went to walmart and got hockey card plastic things and put all mine in. I organize it in months and catergories. Like food, HB,laundry, cleaning. I have a big ziploc in the front pushed through the clsps of the binder to hold my big coupons or ones I dont want to fold.

    Welcome aboard!

A lot of useful information for new members can be found here.

There is a thread here that lists all of the up-to-date coupons from the sites like save, gocoupons, p&g and websaver.

There is a thread here that lists all of the up-to-date printable coupons as well.

There is a thread here that lists a lot of the companies that will send you coupons if you email them.

There is a thread here that lists the companies you can also phone for coupons.

There is a thread here that lists all the current Mail-In Rebates.

Hope that helps, and if you have any questions, feel free to PM me! (I also started couponing because I was having a baby, so I know where you're coming from. )
