I also read on the forum that you could combine a personalized pts coupon with a $ off coupon, just as long as they are not the same ($ off with $ off/ pts with another pts coupon)
Good deal indeed!

You likely won't be able to as the wording on your emailed coupon which is for $ off states "Not to be used in conjunction with any other coupon or offers. Offer is non-transferable. See cashier for details."
At my SDM, the cashier would reject that and not even try to put it through. You can try, and see if the computer accepts it.
The emailed coupons that are for points state: "Not to be used in conjunction with any other Shoppers Optimum Points® promotions or offers. Offer is non-transferable. See cashier for details." so those coupons can be used with manufacturer's $ off coupons.
The clarification of language on the two different types of coupons is relatively recent. In the past, they all had the first statement I copy/pasted, so I have been denied using the SDM points coupon combined with manufacturer's $ off coupons. I have also been denied using more than one emailed coupon in a single transaction, because the cashier didn't understand the meaning of "in conjunction". An SDM coupon that is for points on milk, and an SDM coupon that is for $ off cereal are not in fact being used in conjunction. They are not cumulative or have impact on each other. If challenged on that again, I will simply have things put through as separate transactions. And generally, my cashiers are great, friendly, helpful and many of them are impressed with my savings. For the most part, my SDM shopping experiences are excellent.

Very nice offer you got there. Not sure if both coupons work on the same item. If you have the manufacturer coupon $1 off and use it with either coupon (separate transaction), it works out to be almost free for both items any. You can also combine with mail out coupon like 20x wus $50 and get more points.

And please remind me about which coupons apply to all items and which to only one. I have $2.00 off toothpaste and $1.99 for eggs. Can I get $2.00 off each toothpaste I buy and buy 5 eggs for 1.99 each?
thanks. Also will points count for each item or just the first?

For the eggs, if it's on sale then there's a limit of 2, after limit has a higher price. I have personally tried to use 1 coupon for multiples of same item and it did not work, but other people said it work for them. You can definately use the coupon more than once on separate transactions, but there's a risk of SDM freezing your account. I've only re-use coupon once because I was short 2000 points for a big redemption.

I can't comment on buying multiples - but as far as points go, if you are using PERSONALIZED $$ off coupons, you get points on the AFTER coupon price - so if your $2.00 off toothpaste makes the toothpaste free, you'll get 0 points; if your toothpaste is $1.99 after the coupon, you'll get the base points of $1, which is 10.

I have used in the pass personalized coupons emailed and mailed out at same transaction, they said the system will not allow it but it did.

This may be too late but..I had a $1 off butter coupon and 1600 points wub butter.
I bought 2 butters (2 for $7, if you buy 2).
They took off $1 off each of the 2 butters and awarded me the 1600 points.
Two butters for $5 and 1600 points.
So I think the answer to your question is yes.Last edited by Cake; Sun, Jun 29th, 2014 at 06:09 PM.
