I am new to this community but I have been visiting the smartcanucks blog for years - it's saved me a lot of money, that's for sure! I've also been able to start a small stockpile of gift items, so now I'm always prepared for unexpected birthdays and other occasions! Thanks everyone for all your suggestions and tips!

I have to confess the reason I finally signed up is because I am trying to win a contest - I've created a thread on the vote request page, and I promise to return all votes if you vote for me!
