    As far at luck goes, I like the quote “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” I have a friend who wins like every second radio contest she enters (concert tickets, cool swag, cash) BUT she is up every morning listening and calls into every contest...

    Even if you're not superstitious, why take chances? The one about eating pancakes for breakfast on Friday the 13th and you'll never running out of money is one I particularly practice.

    If it's Friday the 13th then it means that
    thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts have gathered in Port Dover for a Friday the 13th tradition more than three decades old. CityNews weather specialist Frank Ferragine joined the bikers who rolled into town for the unconventional gathering, complete with food, beer tents and live bands.
    “The campgrounds here are packed already,” Ferragine said early Friday.
    “The bikes are rolling here in Port Dover this morning. It’s amazing this started back in 1981 with just a group of 25 friends.”
    Port Dover bike shop owner Chris Simons held the first rally on Nov. 13, 1981. It was intended to be a gathering of friends, but soon grew by word of mouth.
    It was such a good time the group decided to play up the notoriety of the date and reconvene on every future Friday the 13th.
    The next rally will take place on Feb, 13, 2015.
