When I shopped at SDM yesterday, I found $10 SDM gift card was already expired on June 8th.

The $10 SDM gift card was from the last "$10 SDM + $10 Tims WUS $75" promotion. One $10 SDM and one $10 Tims were attached in a small SDM booklet. I didn't tear them down to look at the back.

I only found $10 SDM gf had a expire date for June 8th, 2014 When I went shopping.

Isn't it supposed to be no expire date for gift cards in Canada?

What should I do on this? Please give a hint ...

The promos that offer the $10 "gift card" are misleading. It is NOT an actual gift card, but a coupon. This is how they can get around the expiration issue.

One thing I would suggest is contact Shoppers and post on their FB page about their misleading promo - as they are not actually giving out gift cards.

Beyond that, I don't do those promos, so I don't have any suggestions.

On the flyer, it was stated as SDM CARD, not gift card ...

    Maybe next time...

I'm pretty sure there is fine print somewhere in the flyer that indicates an expiry date? I could be wrong, but if it's in the fine print then I don't think there is much that can be done.

You're right, it is in the fine print of page 10.

    Lessen learned.

I've thrown out two of those because "life happens", both times I realized the date the day after it expires. I just think of it as missing out on a really good coupon. My only suggestion is to use them as soon as possible and not necessarily wait for the better sale day, 20x day etc.

I've had to throw out two in the past before also .... just got too busy and didn't make it in to SDM....

I've done two more of these in the last few months and I am now quick to get them used in small shops (I don't use them for the 20x shops as it complicates those ) I believe Anne is correct in that they are not officially an electronic gift card so they can have a short expiry. The TH cards do not expire though
