At my store 90% of the time the cashiers are kids and have no ideas of the rules or even care. Just don't be surprised if they claw back the points as they have in situations like this in the past.

Shoppers frequenty offer spend $75 get $25 off so I'm not suprised it worked for their gift cards because you will be spending that money in their store.
I had that coupon too and my store wouldn't let me use it when I lowered my $75 with coupons. I had to spend $75 after coupons. I wished I could have saved the hassell and bought a gift card. I'd actually prefer they do this kind of promos instead of all the little coupons that they mail weekly. The cashiers have to read each one and enter the numbers one by one as the lines piles up and you get the dirty looks I know I could live without.
Hope it's legit. It makes TOTAL sense.

yes I admit I did it and I tried to stop the cashier and asked her in the middle and she said that is fine.

i know different people can experience different situations,specially with Sdm.
i heard some Sdm stores allows manufacturer coupons and Sdm personalized coupons together but some not,

I think it's depend on the manager, at my local store the manager would call H/O and verify even if the system allowed it to go through b/c the discount should not be apply to GC...and H/O would point out the fine print and denied the purchase. Her motto is when in doubt call H/O. People make decision not a computer. Basically, it's a computer glitch that allow it to go through and it won't be long before H/O realize this and shut it down because they are losing money big time. Typically, people use SDM GC with other promos so it's double dip or triple dip if you have personalized email coupon...

Imagine a $95 GC- (already got $20 discount) then use it on a 20x or 18500 and use $10, $20 off coupons if you come across them or bonus points coupons...

I didn't think of that and you're right. I was so hoping but I see the potential.

Some cashiers, store managers, and CSRs thought this. Some still do.

Then we found out you get points for buyimg SDM gc's, everyone started doing it..you can then use those to then get more points..so,

You get 1000 points when you buy a $100 gift card. 1000 points are worth around $2. This means that when you use the gift card, you save 2% on whatever you buy.

People were bragging about paying $30 for $40 worth of gift cards, $40 for $50 worth, and/or $40 for $60 worth. This amounts to savings of 20%-50% -- more if the cards are then used on a 20x the points promo or with a personalized points coupon.

for me as long as this works I will be doing it with no guilt.and for those people who don't want to do it that's fine too..if or when SDM changes this policy then that will be fine too!!

SDM's policy, stated on all their store-wide promos, is that puchases of gift cards are not eligible.

but I am sorry to say I will not be posting any brags after this,I hardly share my brags.
momi was so wonderful in sharing and teaching,and she was very proud of her brags always.
she never misused and abused any coupon.she clearly mentioned when and how she was able to get that offer.every thing was fine until the gift card promo'
after the gift card promo so much negative comments started,people start giving her moral lessons,
oh hey y r you doing that,you are not suppose to do that,if I am in this situation I will not do this and that etc etc.
she completely gave up and then she told me she will not be the part of this forum any more.
she deleted all her posts.and some posts she requested to be deleted.
i am a big fan of momi,and I also don't want to be the part of such politics.
if we misused any coupon,we will not post about our brag,we will feel guilty.
but we know that we did it when store allowed it and even Sdm states in the coupon policy that every store management is free to accept or deny the coupon.

Manufacturer coupons, yes.

SDM personal coupons no - they have the fine print on the back CLEARLY stating what the coupon was valid and invalid on.
