I'm assuming they are adding in the extra 8000 still coming for the gc promo last week. Awesome shop greenbaido.
Since I needed winter tires, I bought $1200 in Canadian Tire gc during the gc promo using pcfinancial credit card (3% back), put tires on yesterday at Canadian Tire during their 20x day. So I will have 48000 points for makeup, dh has $100 in Canadian Tire money, $65 coming in tire manufacturer rebate and $36 in pcplus points for their bonus redemption coming up (hopefully, if not it's Christmas food). Everyone's happy.

$1200 bill lol. Yesterday was 20x day which is 8% back in points if you pay cash or gc, I'm actually still trying to figure out some of it but we received $99.71 back on a $1187 bill, it looks like we received points on all tires, rims, balancing, extended warranty coverage and disposal fee. Expensive but we never skimp on brakes or tires. I spent almost a week researching and getting tire quotes, I couldn't find anyone who could beat it for what we were looking for, even without all the promos.

I did exactly the same as @maple7 re 20x @ Canadian Tire (seasonal tire change, oil change, brake fluid flush+replace). Timing seems to always align in November with SDM's GC promo & 20x @ eCT money at CT. If SDM didn't have the GC promo, I would use my spare 10% discounted CT GCs purchased during the year which I usually reserve for CT gas bar.
The 20x occurs again in May/June for tire changeover.
Will be planning for new all seasons tires for 2017, so will be on the lookout for more discounted CT GCs, and maybe the next SDM GC Bonus if they still have that promotion in January 2017.

Easy to earn eCT money for gas purchases & paying utility bills.
Canadian Tire gas bars usually offers from 12x-15x eCT money (converts to $.049 - $.06) for purchasing gas. If CT gas bar is local, it's worthwhile to buy your gas there as long as the price is as reasonably low. We can pay using the 10% discounted CT GCs (which we would purchase to gain air miles, optimum points or PC points $.01 or $.03 per dollar spent). It's all about making sure the $1 you spend stacks as many multiple benefits.
Plus, the Canadian Tire Options credit card allows one to pay utilities bills and earn $.04/$1 spent. I pay gas, hydro & property tax using my Options CC and earn $.04/$1 spent.
I'm considering the DROP app for additional benefits of using a credit card (per @johnb56789 ).Last edited by rockco; Sun, Nov 13th, 2016 at 03:01 PM.

@rockco , off topic but a heads up, saveland accidently posted Rexall's flyers for the next three weeks so I wrote down the promos before they were removed. CT gcs are 10% off week of Nov 25-Dec 1. These however go really fast at my store (lesson learned to get them the first day).
And just to keep on topic, other than the gift cards, I used a 12k wus $50 personal offer on Wednesday, still one of the few good personal offers around (25x), bought lancome mascara for $36 with free gift with purchase and a couple of items with coupons to get to $50.

Don't know the drop app, will have to check that out. Agree with all the above @rockco , I also pay our kids' university tuitions using the CT credit card for $ back.

@maple7 also, there is twice as much CT money on Black Friday weekend for gas purchases.

I also did the GC promo, so 3 x $200 = total of !0,000 pts x 3 (when the 8k points are added). I charged them to my Tangerine credit card which is earning me a 4% cashback promotional rate. So saved/earned $24 on the GC purchases.
