Such a great story! For all the down falls of social media, there's also some great ones!
So happy to hear that your friends daughter will still be able to go for bike rides!

Such a nice story. The power of social media amazes me, as does the power of the human spirit. It is so lovely that a person bought her a new bike! Thanks for sharing!

What a great brag! I'm happy to hear that she got a new bike thanks to the kindness of an absolute stranger. You definitely helped make this happen with your social media posts - so you deserve a special brag too!

Amazing ... the $600 to gift a new bike is probably a tiny drop in the bucket for the fellow from NYC but the whole world to the little girl who loved her bike. Fantastic story - thanks for sharing

scbpooh I thought you were going to say in your post that the bike was found and the thief was caught! This is an even better outcome. There is good in the world, there are people that act right away like that person from New York did. How wonderful!!

You, I just woke up 10 minutes ago and here I am crying like a baby...
YOU... you are also the main angel driver of this miracle. You started this chain reaction...YOU...every time we/I see you posted something I know it is something I want to read but this post is by far better than any freebie or coupon. You are an awesome friend and I thank you for being the friend that you are. I am certain your friend knows it but you are truly special for taking this into your own hands and taking the initiative and using your resources to do something about this sickening situation. Poor little angel to go through that and her family. I was sick to my stomach thinking "something/one" could be so heartless to do such a despicable thing. And as you say the miracle of social media and an angel in New York.. your friends little angel has her liberty back. I cannot stop crying.. If angel in New York is reading this.., thank God you are an angel to all of us for your generosiy and thank you for helping this family from the bottom of our hearts who wish we had the resources to have done the same..
Thank you for sharing dear scbpooh and being the genuine person we know and knew you always were/are. I have to get another flippin box of kleenex, heading to stockpile...Last edited by oscarandme; Wed, Jul 30th, 2014 at 01:10 PM.

Sad story but nice ending. It take a heartless person to do such a thing. It dont matter how much, you just dont do that. It make's me so, so angry wen I read something like this. It's been over 20 years that I work with Special Needs Children and for all of the parents it is expensive. The chidren dont only need one equipment thei usually need more than one ( elextric chair, special bike, special table setting, equipment also for the bathroom their bedroom ). So. yes that make's me angry.
OK, now thank God for the ending of the story. This man from N.Y. is an Angel. He doesn't realise it but people from all over the world will be talking about him. Lot a good thing will happen to him because what goes around comes around.
And the thief also what goes around comes around.
I thank you so much for sharing such an amazing story.....................
