The rest of the story says she was addicted to drugs and a sex worker, in general the police don't have a lot of luck getting info from junkies or prostitutes either. I do think they should be looking for everyone, but with limited resources (and in the case SharonMe mentioned, having a report of the person being seen the first time she was reported missing which would make the subsequent reports look less important) they do need to pick where to concentrate

There may not be resources for one or two vulnerable, marginalized missing woman but it's sad that when almost 50 were buried on one farm, they didn't find that money. Even to bring some awareness so other women could protect themselves and know there was a threat out there. Some officers wanted to publicize it but they were vetoed.
There was a inquiry into that in the end though and some of the families sued and won.
