I eat a lot of yogurt and I know I'm spending more than I should by buying it, even in tubs.
I've seen a lot of recipes online for yogurt but its hard to know which one is the right one.
Anyone have a foolproof recipe I can try out? I eat 2% plain yogurt (I add my own fruit when I'm ready to eat it) so I guess I will use 2% milk?

If you want a sweet yogurt recipe try a parfait with strawberry/ blueberry yogurt, fiber cereal and fruit.
Or for something savory, you can make a dipping sauce for baked potatoes using regular yogurt, crushed garlic, pepper, and lemon juice.

You want to make your own yogurt? Do you have a crockpot?
Try this recipe- it's a good place to start:
http://crockpot365.blogspot.ca/2008/...-crockpot.html
If you wanted to add a sweetener then add it after 2½ hours(up to ½c).
If you wanted it thicker and didnt want to add gelatin - then you can add dried skimmed milk powder (up to ½c) when you add the yogurt/milk mix back into your crockpot.
I've tried it with 1,2 and 3% ..it all worked well.
I always refrigerate mine the following morning in the crockpot and when it's totally cold , then i put it into smaller containers.
Good luck!Last edited by kazm-l; Tue, Sep 9th, 2014 at 07:59 PM.
