I dreaded going to court on Mon. that just passed for jury selection because I had to take DS with me and I wasn't sure how he would react and furthermore I didn't want to get chosen(at least right now) for a number of reasons. Thank goodness DS was asleep for about 45 minutes mins. in the court room. When he woke up, he wasn't fussy, I took him into my arms and he hugged me tight for about 5 mins. He then wanted to be put down and I did. He refused to have something to eat/drink but decided to have some grapes. Shortly after having registered, I wrote a letter to the judge to request exemption and while I waited with the other folks for our fate, I'm happy to report that DS was in a waay better mood than I was. He was going up to different folks and trying to create conversation. They responded positively and he was making folks laugh/smile with his antics(imitation of animal actions & sounds, repetition of new words etc., naming objects etc. in a magazine on lady was reading).I tried to keep him quiet but the lady beside me said " let him be, he's providing free entertainment". He was truly a cutie and I was proud of his boldness once again. Anyway, almost 3 hrs. later and finally my panel # was called out. I as told that I was exempted for now but I'll be summoned in a year's time. Can I say relief? yaay!!!!
I was drained and being so close to Target, I figure a trip there could be a "pick me upper" . The weather was great so after feeding DS, we went to Target and I got the following deals.

    1 ladies Merona top $2.52(reg $12,clearance $3.60-30% TC)
    1 ladies GOM l/s robe $6.89(reg $22.99, then $16.09, then $11.49-3 markdowns)
4 pairs Circo socks for DS $0.38 ea. (Reg $1.25 ea.)
1 pair Henry brown sandals $5.39(Reg $17.99,marked $8.99 on tag but scanned cheaper-hope they fit DS next summer)
    1 pair blue C9 sandals $4.31(reg $17.99,marked $5.39 + used 20% TC)
1 Fieldcrest Luxury Matelassé blanket (last queen size)$23.99(reg $79.99, then $55.99, then $39.99- 3 markdowns)
    1 x 10 pk Papermate ink joy pen $1(clearance $2-$1 mfr cpn)

I then remembered that I had a bogo cpn for mini bon @ Cinnabon so I stopped by the booth and got 2 for $3.14(tax included--gave one to DH-we haven't had one of those in a long while so it was a special treat for us).
What started out as an unpredictable day, went & ended well and I enjoyed getting those clearance deals at Target.

I cringed when you mentioned jury duty. Memories of working full time + part time + full time school and then the dreaded jury letter. Last minute phone message saying that the murder case was not going to court since they pleaded guilty before the court session. Whew!

70% off on the blanket is great.

70% off on the blanket is great.
With so much going on, who knows, you could have had a sympathetic judge who would exempt you till your situation changed etc.
I love the blanket, great quality & nice teal(ish) colour)..now to find a duvet cover(set) for my naked duvet.

Nope. Not around Oshawa. Googled "ways to get out of jury duty" and found that there are not too many any more. They need the jurors and not the excuses, I read. But it turned out well in the end
